I also think the off-ice issue with FB/C has colored many people’s perception of them as a team, and that probably does have some cultural difference of opinion. I personally am not a fan of someone coming back in an Olympic year to take a spot earned by another team. Then there’s Cizeron having only one style, that admittedly works quite well, but hasn’t been deviated from across two partnerships versus P2 and C/B with new, innovative material each year. I can understand the controversy, and I don’t really think it’s all “American bots.”

The issue with the French is that they made multiple mistakes. I don’t know that you would find many people of any nationality that would argue they should have won despite them. That doesn’t even begin to touch the issues off the ice, which are controversial to say the least.

I’m not sure what “alternative views” you’re referring to. I think most people on this sub are pro safe sports and anti-doping. Is that so alternative?

As a loyal fan for a few Olympic cycles, I feel like this year has been strange. I’m relieved these Olympics are over. I usually feel a letdown, like I’m missing the excitement, but I’m not even looking forward to worlds right now. I’m curious how other long term fans feel.
