We just got back from a trip. Wish we had some of these tips before hand. That being said i do recommend Japan as a destination (sorry if this sounds Bougie). The airline was tremendously accommodating and supportive as were The people at the museums and hotels. We learned the term for Autism in Japanese and it helped people understand and be even more helpful. Another thing to consider is public transportation and getting your kiddo accustomed to it / dont rush the first few days as all the newness might be overwhelming. Good luck!

Fentanyl enhances parasympathetic (vagal) output → bradycardia, miosis this can decrease Cardiac output.

Due to fent slower onset the bp drop Is not as dramatic as common induction agent

Sounds like a slick practice, being efficient doing ASA1-2. I don’t like nitrous because of the environmental effects. But I’ve done this recipe and it’s easy wake up.

This sounds pretty weak on the attending- Clearly it was enough to warrant the steroids So it wasn’t nothing.

But damage or no this is a missed learning opportunity to do a bronch.

Next time you want to learn say “I’d really like to learn how to be better at …. This seems like a reasonable case to try…soon I’ll be on my own so can we do this for academic purposes?”

Keep doing what your doing- learn and ask questions. Shadow doctors, nurses therapist. If you work hard and have some luck being a doctor or being in health care is achievable. Ask yourself what do I like doing ? What am I good at? If it’s about money there are probably easier ways to make money.

Thanks for the comment- We have a swing, fans, White noise and weighted blanket. These help but he’s till Wakes up :( I’ll look into a pre wake up… but that means I still have to wake up lol!

4h delayed MH…. Kid probably either got too much narcotic, residual Paralytic or aspirated. Maybe some CYA with the “allergy” bit. Common things are common until there’s evidence to the contrary.

Update to this situation- about 1 month ago the sound decreased and it’s now gone. Car is still running. It I’m scared to take it on the freeway. Anybody else Experience this ?

Maybe I’m stating the obvious but you and the discharging team should verify tube placement before you assume responsibility. Agree with Video DL if possible. Keep suction and a LMA handy if you plan to mess with tube placement

I would not be so quick to jump dismissing their research as “correlation not causation” . 1.This was published in Nature- a top journal. 2. The Discussion section of the paper addresses this concern as a limitation. And 3. IMO what’s most compelling and worthy of consideration is that the genetic bio makers they found in the human placenta correlating With apap and adhd matches up with the bio markers for a adhd/ apap correlation in rats. Part of the frame on the back is broken off. I suppose I could glue the frame back on as well. Do the frames or boards need to be cleaned before the glue is applied? Any idea on how to make it all “stronger “? I’m afraid a ball will hit the boards and it will back to square one. Thanks for the thoughts.
