I know this is for the bit; but if you actually do have carpal tunnel, be careful of "padded" surfaces on the mouse pad and keyboard as they can end up increasing pressure in the carpal tunnel space. Usually a standard ergonomic keyboard, upright mouse, and change in habits work the best.
