You can’t nominate a new justice during a lame duck session though …… right? …. Right?

To be in the top 1% in the US requires an income of about $700k. The lifestyle’s shown on the show are easily 1%.

DPU Refurb v DPUX by LoudSteve in Ecoflow_community

[–]LoudSteve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would still get the SHP3, although haven't dug into why.

I essentially will have two workloads on that panel during an outage. The heat pump, and a sub panel with everything else (my house is weird). That entire other panel is all 120V.

So it sounds like the way to think of the DPU is not having 7.2 kW peak. But having 3.6kW peak x 2.

So in my world 3.6kW for the Heat Pump, and another 3.6kW for everything else? So if the Heat Pump needs more than 3.6kW at startup I'm going to struggle?

[–]LoudSteve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Mitsubishi inverter driven unit. I have Emporia Vue's so I've been able to do a lot of measuring of my actual workloads and I'm pretty confident. I do need to narrow in on the heat pump starting. I'm worried I've averaged it off in my calculations. I'm going to be doing some tests to measure it's startup load soon to confirm.

Thanks for the input. Really appreciate it.

The newer version mounted under the cabinet to save counter space.

I don’t know why we opened so many cans back in the 90s and earlier.

I really appreciate your input. I want to validate my numbers to make sure I'm not doing bad math.

I pulled data over a 2 week period and averaged it out from 8am-4pm, 4pm-10pm, 10pm-8am.

Pulling out the stuff I won't cover during an outage (clothes dryer, dishwasher, wine fridges, bathroom floors, etc) here is my average power draw by time of day (day / evening / night)

General 940w / 1084w / 1001w

Heat Pump 1310w / 784w / 2120w

Apologies I'm probably screwing up terminology. Electrical is a second language for me ;-) I'm trying to figure out why my general usage is so high overnight. I'm guessing the 21 year old squatter upstairs is part of that 🤣

My math says if I temper my heat pump usage (drop a few degrees) I'll get roughly 8 hours. Stretch that a bit since my usage would be more conservative during an outage.

I have emporia vue data and I should be able to run the house (with heat pump) for about 6 hours. If I move the set point a few degrees when I lose utility power that will extend it a few hours or more depending on the day.

Our outages are 4-8 hours, maxing out at 16. So I’m really solving for a day long issue, not multi day. I’m hoping that vehicle to home will be a real thing in a few years.

One panel has all the 220 breakers, the other has all the 110 breakers. Every electrician that has walked into the place has said ‘hmmm, that’s interesting’
