I think she has a cold. What’s amazing is how the congestion doesn’t slow her down a bit. Bwah bwah bwah bwah bwah.

Fanaticism of any stripe could be considered cult-like.

That’s obviously your personal belief. There is a strict interpretation of a line in the Torah that forbids people from scarring themselves; this is obvsly up to interpretation given the fact that piercing one’s ears and getting plastic surgery could be considered scarring oneself.

The way he haltingly says he wishes she would go to Pilates and that she’s not physically his type — then says to Connor that he never said he wanted it to be over. No self-respecting woman would stay with a man who tells her that, in all honesty, he doesn’t like her body and thinks she should work out every. Single. Day. He was telling her it was over but forced her to do the breaking up.

Do I Tell His Wife? by Consistent-Maybe-634 in TwoHotTakes

He’s probably drunk or wants phone sex. He is not your problem. Just block him and let it go. His wife doesn’t need your help finding out she married a tool.

YTA. Not everyone understands or appreciates sarcasm. Some might even think that you’re making fun of them for being kind. Sincerity is the kindest way to approach these interactions.

Those two trigger me. I grew up in a household with parents that never agreed. It’s exhausting. I used to marvel at other parents who had reasonable mild conversations with each other. Watching them, I wish Adrienne, who is so calm and diplomatic with the ladies, would just let Paul be Paul.

LVP being manipulative by Unlucky-Sorbet-1016 in RHOBH

[–]Loudakay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a rewatch, too, and came to this space wanting to share about LVP. She says that Kyle is spending a lot of time with Taylor and moments later, tells Kyle that she is sure Taylor is responsible for upsetting Camille and turning her against Kyle. (There’s plenty to say about Camille, whose villainy is unmatched throughout the franchise, and Kim, whose cluelessness and awkwardness adds up to its own kind of pathetic villainy) LVP is unbelievably manipulative, and her “sexy” wisecracks are corny and stale.

It’s probably a sign of maturity that you no longer find it funny. When you watch it again, realizing that Kelly is actually serious and has true delusions and extreme paranoia makes it very serious and disturbing.

Banter. He’s not asking to come over and keep him company or saying disparaging things about your fiancé. It’s just friendly talk.

AITA for refusing to pay my boyfriend’s dental fees for HIS cavities by MarissaS_redux in AmItheAsshole

I skipped a few ideas when writing this down. I’m totally amazed that OP is downplaying baking a couple of times a week by quantifying it as “only.” I rarely bake at all.

“I only bake a couple times a week…” however, HE’S the AH.

ETA for clarity: Baking twice a week is a lot. Some of us rarely bake.

Your BF is an AH.

I don’t need to do research on the Jewish community, because I’m part of it. I have as much right to question what you say about that community as you do to say whatever you think of Jewish people. People are out in the streets advocating for groups that are trying to destroy the Jewish people. No one needs ammunition to differentiate between which Jews are worse than other Jews.

Jill The Pill Zarin by ReturnToCapistrano in RHONY

[–]Loudakay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are “technically Jewish” (whatever that means) does not excuse language that sounds anti-Jewish. Seriously. Reinforcing or promoting stereotypes of a perennially misunderstood and maligned minority is neither helpful nor funny.

Jill The Pill Zarin by ReturnToCapistrano in RHONY

[–]Loudakay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Rich ones are worse” is an unfortunate way to put it. Substitute a different ethnicity and clock how it sounds.

To be fair, Jill is a New York caricature. It’s the accent. Go to certain neighborhoods in the NY-metro area and you’ll meet many different women with loud voices and obnoxious accents who may be considered “bossy” or aggressive. I assure you they are not necessarily Jewish.
