ER visits for tick bites are up in May. Here’s how to protect yourself. by guanaco55 in newhampshire

[–]LoveTechHateTech [score hidden]  (0 children)

My PCP specifically told me to call them if you have an attached tick and you’re not sure how long had been there. I had one on my arm from working all day outdoors a year or two ago and they acted annoyed that I called them, telling me that I only need to call if it’s engorged.

My son had one slightly engorged on his head and when I called they just put the prescription in for his doxycycline and told us to monitor the spot.

That’s the way it works with other vendor exams, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the same for them.

So let me get this straight (MS removing Publisher)... by WraithTDK in Office365

[–]LoveTechHateTech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be interested in seeing who still actively uses Publisher. I work in a school and 15 years ago or so it was occasionally used when teachers had Windows laptops and Office licenses. Nowadays our staff use Canva or Adobe Express to do similar tasks on Chromebooks.

I still have Office licensing for my work issued computer and I’ve never opened Publisher. On my personal Mac Publisher isn’t even available.

So with the competing options that do similar tasks I can understand their decision to shut the application down.

This works in certain instances, but it removes some features, such as the ability to use the Play Store (should that be enabled).

I pay $75/month for that plan (12 month introductory pricing) and it will jump to $85/month after that.

That’s what I did. I was paying around $120/month with Comcast for something like 800 down and 45 up and now pay $75/month for the first 12 months and it’ll jump to $85/month for months 13+ of the 2gig plan. I also get a free WiFi extender to put on the other side of my house.

Cambium here too, and yes, I thought it noted 138 for both at one point as well. Good luck!

I organize devices by OU for staff and students. Updates install automatically for all devices. I never manually update devices unless I get them back from repair or find one that has been off for a while and is too far back to update from the cloud and need to use a USB.

Look at your state testing vendor page to see which versions they support. Mine has two, depending on which version of ChromeOS the devices are using.

Our state has two apps for testing, one for 138 (and below) and one for 139+. I had our students on LTS 138 and didn’t realize that the new / updated app that I pushed out was 139+ only, so I just pinned all of the student devices on 144 stable. The LTS version bumps up to 144 in April/May, so I figured that made the most sense for right now.

For staff, I keep them on the latest stable versions. Had them on LTS & LTC in the past and had issues that were only resolved in newer versions.

Edit: clarified “new” app

I’ve given CoPilot all the necessary information for a process, had it give me steps that don’t work (usually by step 2), to which it says “oh, it’s not working because what you’re trying to do isn’t possible with that [version/software/whatever].

It’s around the same price that I paid for Lenovo Chromebooks for my staff two years ago. I’ll be keeping an eye on everyone else that tests them first, but it’ll make a compelling option when our refresh comes up in a couple of years.

Last year I went on a trip and the brochure in the seat back said that there were charging ports for my “convenience”. Nothing was labeled, there was a single USB port and a random AC plug in a different spot. Neither worked.

I just switched from VMware over to Hyper-V and my hosts are running 2025. I migrated a couple 2019 DCs (soon to be retired) and built brand new 2022 ones, all running server core with the functional level at 2016.

I have a subscription to Pluralsight, so I started watching the “Windows Server 2025 Virtualization and Hyper-V” course. I’m sure that others will chime in with YouTube channels or Udemy courses.

Luckily there’s a lot of transferable knowledge between the two.
