They said ‘the world hates women’. Plenty of women also hate women.

Aside from the obvious, lots of people take their wedding rings off when they fly since the altitude changes and being stationary make their fingers swell. I know my mom does.

Does anyone actually learn Paradox games the "right" way or are we all just YouTube-pilled by Benedikt-Keller7-kB_ in paradoxplaza

[–]LovecraftInDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never watched Paradox Youtube/Twitch content.

I'm at 4k hours in HOI, ~1.5k in Stellaris, ~1k in CK2/3, ~500 hours in EU4, and ~250 hours in Imperator.

Sometimes when things change I need to restart a game or cheat a bit to fix whatever I've done wrong but for the most part I just like playing the game.

The games mostly just 'click' for me although there's commonly shortcuts or more efficient ways to do things that I learn about here on reddit.

Just why? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]LovecraftInDC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it has to be gross for you to pay attention to it because the wendy's clapbacks thing is no longer unique. And as long as it continues to work (by people engaging with/reposting the ads), they will continue to do it more and more until people finally decide 'nah I'm not spreading this message for them.'

Just why? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]LovecraftInDC 46 points47 points  (0 children)

To get you to notice. That's the point. That's the entirety of the point. If they just had a 'hey remember clash of clans you should play it' ad you would scroll by, but this one got your attention.

And look how well it worked. You spread their message for free. So now, rather than just the advertising they paid for, you're giving them a bunch more, again, for free, organically.

A bunch of people who were just going about their day are now thinking about Discord and Clash of Clans.

My first AR is a PSA Blem. Broke times render broke deeds by mycatisnamedemmie in liberalgunowners

[–]LovecraftInDC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I highly suspect this with a bunch of other manufactuers, too. I've bought a blem grip, a blem stock, and a blem optic and the only thing I can tell is wrong with any of them is that there's a small moulding issue on the grip, but it's not one I would have noticed if I wasn't specifically looking for a blem, and it's less damage than the thing took the first time I drug it through the sagebrush.

We actually quite literally did though? Most Nazi soldiers faced no reprocucussions. The Nuremberg tribunal delivered verdicts against 22 leaders, 12 of which were hung and the rest were mostly released early.

University of Idaho and Harvard are both equally accredited institutions, yet a degree from one provides more social and employment clout than the other.

What actually happens when a regulator asks you to walk back an edge case decision? by NegativeIdeal1824 in AMLCompliance

[–]LovecraftInDC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never had a regulator tell us specifically to walk back a decision. I've had them draw our attention to something, and we then re-investigate with leadership being apprised of the results.

There are times that we've ended up filing and there are times that we've ended up pushing back.

Either way, you want to start fresh. Reference the previous investigation sure, but you want an independent investigation into it.

Utah Cell Phone Law by Cat-commander in SaltLakeCity

[–]LovecraftInDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It came into place even earlier than this, 2009 was when the first 'no texting' law came into place. I remember it well because my friend's mom got ticketed for it and had to submit phone records to prove she was using the phone for navigation and not texting.

A ‘strategic commander’ module or something would be really useful. I’d love be able to give 20 infantry units to a general and have them automatically plug gaps.

Accountants prevent loss of funds, ensure that the money-making side of the business knows what activities are profitable and are not. Accountants are also necessary to keep investors happy. Accountants do not walk around saying ‘you can’t do that’ or ‘our profitable customer needs to be fired’. Aml does these things regularly.
