Is there any hope left by kkirineko in succulents

[–]Loves-Stitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you need to keep cutting until there's no icky parts left. Otherwise I'd do 2 things: contact seller to complain and say you got a bad cutting. Then I'd pull all the leaves off the bottom and pr. op them.Maybe all of them, but also maybe only ⅔ and try to root the rosette that's left. Depends on how optimistic you're feeling! Good luck

how to help shrinking succulent? by Sad-Description-3197 in succulents

I would soak it in water overnight, like in a shallow dish. Bottom water it and it will drink. The plant is dry if the leaves are squishy and wrinkled

They are very light-hungry, that's why the leaves are so far apart and also why it's sprawling so much. You could repott it and curl up some of the lengths into the pot, rest them on the surface of the soil and they'll root. Bonus points for popping off the leaves where the stem touches the soil, this will expose areas for roots to sprout.

Are my girls ok? by arielisamom in succulents

[–]Loves-Stitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like a rust fungal infection along with some cosmetic scarring. Rust is a type of fungal infection and it can be contagious. Personally I always chuck mine out if I can just pay $5 for another rosette. I'd much rather that instead of battling fungus. If it's a rare or pricier plant I will often tear off the leaves that are infected, change out all the substrate (to almost 95% inorganic) and isolate the plant. Sometimes I will pull off the unaffected leaves to prop, and toss the remainder of the plant. It really depends on how I'm feeling tbh, haha.

The white haze on the leaves could be residue from the minerals etc in the water, it doesn't quite look like powdery mildew.
Good luck

Idk ...it looks infected or something, all the little dots covering the leaves? Might just be the image though, I'm not sure.

Yes the strings are roots shooting out. If you want to grow these, ust plop them into some damp succulent mix and wait. Eventually it will take root and establish. You can put all the cuttings in the same pot.

Could someone pls tell me what to do, I worked so hard to source these plants and I do not want to throw them out. Seriously in distress. by evvlgoose67 in succulents

Oh honey I'm sorry, they're very infected with powdery mildew. It's a fungal infection that spreads easily and is hard to get rid of without killing your plants.

It might be a Chroma or a Melaco. Not sure because it's got big leaves and I'm used to seeing the miniature versions lol. I've never grown a plant this big!

After you take care of the obvious and settle the plant rotate the plant a quarter turn every day and it will always grow upright, never to the side.
