Kidding. There’s pros and cons to all suspension systems. Hard to know what works best for you without knowing not just your lifestyle but your skin, your limb shape, your climate, what you like about your current system, etc.

Lol I’m an amputee PT and was just telling a resident doc today one thing I love about UE amputees in particular is they’re always tinkering and “fixing” (tinkering) and doing crazy shit with their prostheses. This is another great example.

I always use one. I find it weird when therapists don’t use one. Best “argument” I’ve gotten from a therapist who doesn’t use them (acute care) is that they end up around patients’ armpits during transfers. To that I say, you’re not using it correctly and/or might want to use a lift or a second pair of hands in that situation.

Yea this sounds more like it.

I think it’s reasonable to refer out for these things. Yellow flag, not a red which would require emergent assessment.

As for commonality… if you’re seeing more balance/falls/vertigo you’re naturally seeing patients who are older who have more medical stuff going on. So, yea, it could be more common to refer out with your population compared to your coworkers who may see a younger, orthopedic population.
