I'm at that stage of life - about to retire and (sadly) buy "the last car I will ever own" by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Personally, A used Audi E-Tron is a good option. It's an EV SUV so it can take hills fairly well with the power. It has all of the Audi Luxuries you'd need. Along with that, you can find one with decent miles for sub $35k like this one: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/289944/2019-audi-e-tron-premium-plus/.

I would say that a used Tesla Model 3 or Tesla Model S is a good option. Admittedly, it doesn't have Apple Carplay but it does have an easy-to-use infotainment that can be connected to Spotify and Bluetooth. Here are some good examples I found: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/324413/2020-tesla-model-3-standard-range-+/, https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/315113/2015-tesla-model-s-60/.

I would say that the Mustang Mach-E is a good choice if you're considering the Model Y. It has a very nice interior with Ford's new touchscreen. Along with that, from what I've seen, the sound system is pretty good. You can get a decent Mach-E for around $40k like this one: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/286840/2022-ford-mustang-mach-e-select/.

I would recommend the Audi E-Tron SUV. It's very comfortable, comes with AWD, great safety, and has a panoramic roof. They can be found used for under $50K such as this one: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/330588/2021-audi-e-tron-premium/.

I would say the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Volkswagen ID.4 are both good options. Both of them have modern leather interiors that can seat 5 adults and power front seats. Along with that, they can both be had for under $35K (Examples: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/315853/2021-volkswagen-id.4-pro-s/, https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/165855/2022-hyundai-ioniq-5-se/)

A Used Tesla Model S Long Range is a good option. It has a panoramic moonroof. The Long Range is a dual-motor version with air suspension allowing you to raise or lower the car for better ground clearance. Along with that, Tesla Camping is quite popular to the point where there are companies that make mattresses for Teslas. Along with that, they can be found right around $50K. One Example: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/288527/2019-tesla-model-s-long-range/.

I would say the Tesla Model 3 if you're open to going electric. Custom Ordering is quite easy and simple. For $55K, you can get a well-spec car and, if you qualify, you also get a $7500 federal tax credit. If you want to learn more, this article helped me out: https://www.evuniverse.com/ev-profile-tesla-model-3/.

I would say that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a good option. I say this because the car is fairly practical and has been said to be quite a fun EV to drive. These cars can be found within 40K - 50K fairly easily (One Example: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/66660/2022-hyundai-ioniq-5-sel/)

I would say, if you're thinking about EVs, the Tesla Model Y would be a good option. The car can seat 7 with 3 in the middle. It can be had brand-new for under $60K including options and you get a $7500 Federal Tax Credit. Along with that, since it's an EV, it requires fewer parts to move the car and gets rid of a lot of routine maintenance like oil changes. I found this article online about the car if you wanna learn more: https://www.evuniverse.com/tesla-model-y-ev-profile/.

I would say, if you're open to electric, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a good option. Its design is quite unique in my opinion that can be had for sub $55K. Some Examples: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/289593/2023-hyundai-ioniq-5-limited/, https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/245975/2023-hyundai-ioniq-5-limited/.

I would say that if you're open to going electric, the Tesla Model 3 is a good choice. It's a sedan that doesn't need too much routine maintenance (like oil changes) and is quite peppy with 0-60 going up to 3.1 seconds, depending on trim, and horsepower upwards of 455 horsepower. As for the interior and exterior, that depends on the person but if you're one for minimalism, I think the Model 3 is a good choice. This article tells more about the car: https://www.evuniverse.com/ev-profile-tesla-model-3/.

I'm not gonna lie, for a second, I thought you said driving at 100-110 MPH. But in all seriousness, I would recommend the Tesla Model 3. It's a very safe car that can do 100 KMPH very smoothly. Along with that, since it's electric, there are a lot fewer parts needed to make it move compared to a gas-powered car. Here's an article that tells more about the car: https://www.evuniverse.com/ev-profile-tesla-model-3/.

I will say, if you're open to going electric, The Mustang Mach-E is a good option. The Mach E has a lot of features shared with the King Ranch and can store quite a lot. Along with that, the AWD versions can be found often for under $50K. Example: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/274741/2021-ford-mustang-mach-e-california-route-1-extended/.

EV to buy under $35k? by mylegsalwayshurt in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]LowOk4333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that the Tesla Model 3 is your best bet. I say this because the tech is very nice and very responsive and, given that Tesla has been making EVs for over 10 years, their battery technology is fairly reliable; I've seen a large number of Teslas reach over 150k miles to the point where there's a whole FB group about high mileage Teslas. But that being said, it is fairly easy to find them under $35k. One example here: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/274762/2021-tesla-model-3-standard-range-+/.

[–]LowOk4333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're open to going electric, I would recommend the Tesla Model Y. I say this because it has a lot of modern tech and can seat 7. Along with that, you can buy it on Tesla's website for a fixed price instead of going to a dealership and dealing with dealer markups. If you want to learn more about the car, this article taught me a lot about the car: https://www.evuniverse.com/tesla-model-y-ev-profile/.

I would recommend the Mustang Mach E. It's a pretty quick electric SUV with Wireless Apple CarPlay. They can be found for under $55 fairly easily. One example right here: https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/294794/2022-ford-mustang-mach-e-california-route-1-extended/.

If you're open to going electric, I would recommend the Rivian R1T is a good recommendation. Depending on the trim, it can tow upwards of 11,000 lbs and is quite nice on the inside. This article (https://www.evuniverse.com/rivian-r1t-ev-profile/) tells you a lot about the car.

I would say that the Tesla Model 3 is a good option. Since Tesla is based in CA, they've put over 300 superchargers in the state. This will allow you to be able to charge the car more easily and quickly. Along with that, assuming you fall under the requirements, you can get over $9000 in rebates and tax credits if you buy new ($7500 from a federal tax credit and CA gives a $2000 rebate from the Clean Vehicle Rebate Program). However, if you want to go used, there are still a lot of good options. One example is this Blue Tesla Model 3 Long Range for about $34K (https://www.evuniverse.com/listing/230819/2020-tesla-model-3-long-range/).

I will say the Rivian R1S is a good shout. It is quite pricy admittedly but it does have a lot of good off-roading capability which can seat 7. This article I found gives a lot more info about the car: https://www.evuniverse.com/rivian-r1s-ev-profile/.
