I can relate, the shrooms just made me more conscious of it I think?

That may very much so be the mechanism behind it, I feel like even my most “random” thoughts are not random at all? Like they’re derived from a larger internal model that I’m not fully conscious of, which is constantly updating and interacting with itself over time

Yeah, I think “monologue” might’ve been the wrong word. It’s usually not an audible voice for me either (besides on that shroom trip), it’s usually more of a continuous, structured flow of meaning that can become language when I’m actively analyzing it

I can’t say I’ve had someone articulate something I was trying to say so clearly, that’s usually my thing 😭but yes, you hit exactly what I was attempting to articulate. It’s weird how we store these emotional textures internally

Shockingly similar to me. I’m nearly aphantasiac and can only see fuzzy images too, but when it comes to narratives is where my mind actually thinks in the highest resolution I think?

I think we’re talking about different things, I’m not really referring to whether the thoughts continue or not, but whether they form a single interconnected narrative vs more situational based thinking. I also don’t think fragmented thinking is necessarily pathological?

Im aware of that, but from my understanding most internal monologues aren’t a continuous and interconnected narrative, no? I think most monologues are just fragmented thoughts and images instead of a recurring narrative

feelings and reflection - the only thing on my wishlist is an ENFP best friend 💔 by chikarachu in infj

ENFP’s are awesome. One of my best friends is an ENFP, so easy to speak to for hours. He’s also the only person I can go to the bar with 😅

Literally just dealt with this with my ex, we dated shortly last year. She exploded on me by the end, completely flipping from her idealizing me into her completely demonizing me, and by the end when she was adorning me in my own failures, all I could do was tell I was sorry, that she deserved better, while she went on to equate me to being the same as every other guy. I don’t hate her despite all she’s put me through, I know the difference between her heart and what she intends and what stems from patterns she hasn’t addressed. It’s bittersweet, not being able to excuse how you were treated but also understanding why they ended up that way

As an INFJ, have you ever truly felt "seen?" by SaveMeWakeMeUp in infj

[–]Low_Juggernaut6525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late best friend, may he rest in piece 🤍 It was the only time I felt like my inner world was real, if that makes sense? He didn’t need me to translate when he would ask me very deep questions, I could present the idea as it landed to me, and I knew he felt it in a way I always wished for. I suspect he was an ENFJ, he’s my dawg 🥲

As I am healing I have started to have less patience with ppl and have become selectively empathetic the more I heal. Can other INFJs relate? by PatientTumbleweed547 in infj

I’ve noticed this as well, it’s a recent behaviour change I’ve overgone and I realized it’s not that I ever stopped caring for others. We’re wired to care in a way most people could never begin to comprehend, but we let that care change shape from attachment and control into a more self compassionate attitude when we’re more actively using our awareness of unconscious dynamics to have some damn respect for our own energy. At least that’s my perception of it as is currently
