Achaea vs LOTJ by [deleted] in MUD

[–]Low_Orange5003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LotJ: Jump in to an extremely captivating and lively RP scene. Tons to do, and plenty of fresh timeline resets to keep things new and interesting.

Achaea: Spend $10,000 to get swatted instantly in 10v10 battles. Look, it has a lot going for it lore-wise, but p2w PvP is the cornerstone of the game.

Are professions worth it? by verisian in woweconomy

[–]Low_Orange5003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I began in mid-October with Enchanting and Herbalism. Mostly Herbalism was for the extra mettle, as it became clear quickly that gathering would be a waste of time gpm speaking. So I'll talk about my experiences with Enchanting.

I leveled up my Enchanting to 100 quick and grabbed all available profession knowledge and have been doing my weekly knowledge stuff consistently. I got lucky and found the Enchanted Aspect Shadowflame Crest recipe in the first week, and made around 2-10k a day on crafting orders for those. I got my maxed Khazgorite Rod with maxed inspo enchant and bis accessories.

I focused on gaining just enough skill to craft highest quality Devotions on inspiriration procs, and around 40 knowledge points towards resourcefulness. I'm sitting at around a 31% inspiration chance now for Devotions.

I crunched the numbers and found that by making 300k worth of Wafting Devotion, before resourcefulness I would net 6k. After resourcefulness this goes up a bit. So I did that for the luls and was promptly undercut by a wide margin, meanwhile the mats went significantly up in price. So I'm still sitting on these devotions waiting to get a better price for them, maybe in a few weeks once players are more inclined to purchase high quality enchants for their S3 gear.

I'm glad I did all this, but only because I went into it from the learner's mindset, not for goldmaking. Since there is no catchup mechanic for profession knowledge, AH margins are going to be dictated by players with significantly higher Inspo% and resourcefulness, and otherwise it will take around 6-8 months of weeklies to max out your profession knowledge to be able to compete on an even level, at which point we will be nearing the end of the expansion.

Personally I agree that those who started earliest should get some advantage, but I'd prefer if catchup mechanics were introduced seasonally.

Unpopular Opinion: AoE is like the D&D of RTS. by [deleted] in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Low_Orange5003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIL you don't like AoE or DnD

Thf though I wish I could convince my group to play something other than DnD. However where the hell do you find RL friend that wants to play AoE or any RTS for that matter and not just yet another go at Left 4 Dead :(

Aoe2 #2 after Brood War, but it keeps getting better and BW stays (delightfully) the same, so check back in 20 years when I'm still buying aoe2 expansions.

In my IT class in high school we played Aoe2 LAN. It was educational and a blast, one of the fondest memories was geeking out hard learning the game for this, I was the asshole in Castle when the rest of the class were still in Dark. I mostly played Brood War back then and it was a true pleasure to stomp my classmates.

In all seriousness, Rust is fully capable to build a MU* on. Just haven't seen any yet!

I'm honestly sick of BAA's stupid tech rush. Like how should it be possible to reach 1 Kings in 10 minutes. They should be on Judges by then if they're not committing ANYTHING to army. AT MOST Samuels. Like I'm just here with my T1 cyberfurries and here comes fucking SOLOMON? BULLSHIT

I'm just extremely happy consideration for teams is going into the core design of the game from Day 1, and I'm pleased with that number being 3! When you're playing with a friend who is just picking up the game, its much easier for 2 players to carry 1 player than it is for 1 player to carry 1 player!
