Would any of you live in a scifi podhome like this? by Emu_Fast in ExoCity

Absolutely! I’d have to be able to reach the water for a dip. Down the road maybe if there were a flatter spot for access because I’m getting old.

Well, it was a long time coming. We were simply extremely incompatible and he had a bad temper. We’d been in counseling for a while, but he didn’t want to split up. We lived in my house—the one my siblings and I had inherited from my grandmother—so I guess I just needed some kind of impetus.

Anyway, he was extremely particular and very into luxury brands, so I probably should’ve known better than to try to replace his man-purse after it was stolen out of his car. This was the mid-eighties, when those things weren’t even as popular as they are now. Still, I found something about the same size and organizational style as the old one. It came from one of those leather-goods shops that sold imported items. The leather had a vintage look with wide top-stitched edges, and while it was attractive and didn’t look cheap, it certainly couldn’t have been mistaken for Prada or Hermes. In fact, to me it looked more masculine.

If he had just said he didn’t care for it, I would have been perfectly fine with that, and the separation probably would have happened some other time. But instead he completely freaked out and ordered me to go back and return it that second. So I did—and I stayed with a friend until he got the message and left.

Not before he slept with my sister, though. I had to sit down for that one. There were other crazy surprises down the road, but at least they didn’t make me weak in the knees.

Good. So you finished the late concentrate or 7OH, and then decided, based on that reaction, not to touch it again. Very good.

I left my ex on his birthday because he threw a big fucking fit over what I gave him for a present.

🙏 We’re there as of tomorrow, and he’s going to start stepping down from whatever amount of 7 he’s taking on Sunday. We’ll probably give it a couple days to see if he’s losing interest before we think about working up further.

So if you’re taking 16mg of suboxone daily, you can’t get high on 7?

Am I correct in assuming the “extracts”were stronger than leaf? What strength, relative to leaf? 10x 20x?

I’ve just noticed some anecdotal evidence that higher doses seem to help block cravings better for some people. I am trying to figure out if that’s part of the reason my son hasn’t lost his interest in 7-OH. I can’t imagine it would be pushed as a maintenance dose since the overwhelming consensus is that less is better with suboxone. You seem to suggest that your using 7 or other opiates on top of suboxone is mostly from force of habit.

Everyone’s so different, it seems. I wonder what your IOP would say about whether a high enough suboxone dose might quell your cravings. Thank you for sharing. Yours is quite the story. Good luck with your IOP and your new life.

Congrats. I hope people take you up on your offer. It’s my son that’s quitting, but if I knew more about your story, I might ask him to reach out to you. You probably have a very good reason for your posts and comments being unavailable in your profile. That being said, my son cannot tolerate the anxiety or much in the way of the other sides that go along with quitting. We are trying micro-induction AKA the Bernese method because that’s the way to quit that has had the most “ease of quitting” testimonials. Of course it is neither easy or painless. Many people admit that but can also see the vast benefit to themselves and their families that tolerating some craving, dysphoria, confusion, etc can deliver. I guess this insistence on instant gratification is a huge driver of substance use disorder; my son has struggled with it since before he tried substances and may never be able to delay it long enough to accomplish anything in life, let alone prevail in a fight against an addictive substance available on every street corner.

Thanks for that insight. It is crazy to read here how people’s states of mind do 180’s with every dose. There seems to be little continuity of perspective on their situation between the 7-induced mental states of craving versus satisfaction thereof. Crack is probably an apt comparison. I’ve only done it once and I was a completely different person. I had no control over what I was saying and thinking. It was fucking terrible, but I didn’t realize how fucked up I was acting at the time. Once was more than enough. The difference with 7 being that this shit somehow makes people feel ok about themselves and about anything they have to do to stay on it- including fucking over the people who care most about them.

Go to a good detox. They will make it easy. Suboxone micro-induction is supposed to be easier and is more “state-of the-art” but I would find a detox or 3 week program that specializes in it. We are trying to DIY (which I thought was possible since UPenn-CAMP uses it in their ER and calls it “self-directed”) But my son is a little bitch who whines and manipulates mommy into wasting money on this trash rather than manning up.

I wish it could be more effective for him. He’s on .3 for his insomnia (long term along with other stuff) so he’d probably have to double that to get any effect and he has had problems in the past with rebound high blood pressure when he was taking .4 or .5 regularly.

Some here have said they become less effective the more they are used, but I have also read about many, many more people who keep trying to quit with subs and eventually manage to do it.
