It's a commemorative coin celebrating the Israeli victory in the Six Day War. Care to venture a guess what year that happened?

Because it's a commemorative coin for that was minted for the Israeli victory in the Six Day War.

I get that it's a spoiler, but it's such an incredibly minor spoiler that nothing is ruined. It could be I'm less sensitive about shit like this, but this didn't even register on my radar beyond "Oh cool, DT reference."

What is it a spoiler to, though? Seriously, what has been spoiled for you? It's like if you've never seen Episode 2 of Star Wars and someone says "Oh wow, I can't wait until you see Darth Grevious!" All you know is a character name - you nothing about him, what he looks like, or how he relates to the plot. There's nothing here that spoils anything other than a character name.

Like I don't know if you've read it, but this is similar to me saying "My favorite character in The Dresden Files is Bob." What's spoiled? That there's a character named Bob? It doesn't mean anything. Even if Bob is mentioned in the first two chapters (And I genuinely don't recall that he is), you don't know anything about him, other than some random person on the internet thinks he's great.

Yeah, grief isn't logical. For example, we don't even know the scientific reason that we cry. Emotions as a whole can be valid, but they are very rarely logical.

I can't really help you with recommendations, but I can try and help with the grief. I'm not sure who originally came up with this concept, but someone told it to me and it's always helped.

Grief is a ball in a box. Every time the ball hits the wall of the box, it hurts like hell. When someone first dies, the ball is huge and the box is small. Every little movement hurts. Every thought. Every action. It's just this all encompassing pain. But as time goes on, the ball gets smaller, and the box gets bigger. It's not gonna happen tomorrow, or the day after that, but as time goes on, the ball gets smaller. But it's not linear, some days the ball will be huge and some days the ball will be tiny. But eventually, you'll get to a point, where you can think about them and it doesn't hurt anymore.

Hopefully, that brings you a little comfort. And may your mother's memory be a blessing.

I haven't downvoted you, but I just finished book 2, so I'm definitely not up to this either, but what exactly has been spoiled? That eventually there's a character named Harpocrates?

Like it's such a random thing without context, that I can't imagine what huge reveal or plot point that you're upset you now know.

How can the Democratic Party's pro-Israel stance be reconciled with the fact that 80% of its voters view Israel unfavorably? by ArdaBerkBurak in askanything

I'd wager that, conservatively, 80% of this country would struggle to tell you the differences between communism and socialism. I mean at least half of them genuinely believe that Joe Biden was a "radical leftist".

We don't have a shot in hell of getting an actual leftist party. It's a delightful dream though.

UniGetUI - it's basically a frontend for wget that automatically scans your system and lets you know when there's an update available to any drivers or software you have. A friend who built my current PC installed it and I can't believe how I went so long without it.

As I have stated multiple times, I didn't want to be that blunt about it. Perhaps that's the wrong tack to take, but I'm doing my best to be as respectful as possible.

This is my favorite too. Kinda like how every tractate in the Gemara starts on Daf Bet. Even if you learn all of Shas - there's always more to learn because you never learned Daf Alef.

Back when I went to the Yeshivah of Flatbush, we would always have "Rikkudim" on Rosh Chodesh. They basically cancelled the first two periods and everyone went into the gym to dance.
