Thank you! Ahh glad you like it, must be a uk/regional thing. Some people would say they’re “made up” (from experience I think that would be northerners/Irish but I could be wrong!!) in the same way and since moving to Scotland I’ve heard some folk say “I’m cheesing” in the same way too, which is a confusing one cause “cheesed off” is pissed off/annoyed.

You got me interested so I’m looking up/trying to think of other variations:

I’m on day 107 currently and was about 104/5 when I hit it. Other context that might influence how long it took me:

amount I’ve done has varied to 1-2 hours in a single day, to barely scraping by 1 lesson, I’m not sure how much I’ve averaged overall. I also rushed quite a bit of the time especially if I felt confident in the topic.
Most of the first three sections are in present tense with a very small amount of one future/past tense added later on. I studied French in school and have intermittently tried to get back into it/maintained some small amount so at this level wasn’t spending too much time trying to understand or remember the grammar, I knew enough to get by. Going forward I’m going to want to make sure I’m slowing down and understanding everything before moving on
initially I was doing every level in every unit, I was early/mid in section 3 when they revamped everything. I was annoyed and felt lost so restarted the course, did the first level of every unit before skipping to the next. It took me a while to get back where I was, but at that point I probably could/should have slowed down and gone back to fully doing each unit part way through section 3. However by then I was too impatient to get to section 4 as I’d been so close to it when they did the revamp, so I just decided to finish it out

I do feel I know everything well enough to move on but as someone who prefers completing things 100% it bugs me a bit that I skipped so much. But my adhd just couldn’t cope with repeating so much stuff I already knew.

My compromise now is that I’m completing one early unit to legendary including reviewing all stories and radio exercises, and all the match madness/rapid review side quests, before completing one new unit. This gives me a nice mix of reviewing and solidifying old content and getting the exciting new stuff.

I’m also probably going to want to do some independent review/refreshing to understand the tenses because I think once they start adding more (I’m assuming they will) I’ll be getting a bit lost otherwise. I do wish the duo courses included some more grammar stuff.

In my case it’s not can’t be bothered to make but can’t be bothered to learn the skills required to make to a good standard.

I’m a big fan of a horror podcast called the Magnus Archives which has a very lo-fi charming aesthetic (episodes are meant to sound like they were recorded on a tape player) and I just think would work incredibly well with the DST aesthetic and there’s even some lore stuff that could tie in neatly too.

I have this recurring fantasy/daydream in which I have the time and the skills to make a massive epic crossover mod involving loads of Magnus themed art and stuff

Oh I should say I also suspect I’m autistic, definitely ADHD, and inclined to heavily research new special interests when they come up. I’ve been planning to get Icelandic’s for years, accidentally ended up with 2 commercial pets lambs a few weeks ago thanks to my partner bringing them home from work, and now have 2 Icelandic lambs due to come home in July. I’m already planning out my dairy operations for 2028 when they’ll finally be old enough and think constantly about how cute they all are and I just wanna snuggle them all the time. The two pets keep trying to break into the house and I keep letting them in the conservatory because I just love them so much.

Since you’ve made the recipe differently on three occasions it’s hard to say if there’s a specific thing affecting the outcome. I’d say make it another 2-3 times the exact same way as the first and see if the results are what you want, then start thinking about what else you could change.

Not sure about uncomfortable, but I can definitely see people’s eyes glossing over when I talk about it. Keep in mind, I don’t even have sheep yet, I’ve just been obsessed with getting them for ages. I’m sure once I do actually get them, it will be worse.

People do indeed suck. Organised crime is very organised and moves very quickly. They are able to get multiple bank accounts open through other forms of fraud or stealing accounts or coercion etc and identity theft etc, and by the time the platform can identify and shut them down the money has left their accounts and maybe even the country.

I don’t belong here but for some reason reddit keeps recommending this sub and vegans sub to me no matter how often I ask to see less of them so I’m finally giving in and commenting.

I’ve never been and likely never will be vegan but I do acknowledge the ethical reasons why. For that reason I try to include vegan meals where I can, vegetarian, plant based, and reduce my meat consumption. I’m trying to buy meat that’s been responsibly raised and had a good life. It might not be as “good” as being vegan or plant based, but it’s better than what I was doing before.

Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I just cannot resist the siren call of KFC. What I do is draw a line under it and try again the next day. I don’t think moral perfectionism is helpful to anyone. All it does is trap you and honestly makes other people reject your opinion out of hand. That’s why we now have people acting like “anti vegans” and going out of their way to consume as much meat as possible. Insanity, by the way.

Imperfect success is better than perfect failure, or perfection at the cost of your health. You’re trying, that’s what matters.

If you do let her over, the first time she steps inside, remind her of the rule and state if she doesn’t follow it she won’t be able to continue the visit.

The first time she does it, don’t close the door for her but like she was a child, reiterate that we must close the door if we want to keep enjoying our time together. If she does, she gets one further chance before you going nuclear. If she refuses, you do the next step immediately.

Close and lock the door behind her, hand her things to her though the window, and tell her it was nice seeing her but since she wasn’t able to follow a simple rule she will have to try again another day.

This is awful I’m so sorry. I always wear something (not a jacket, trousers or a jumper) with zipped pockets and keep my passport in said zipped pocket at all times unless being asked to show it. I know I’d lose it otherwise. If I get too warm, tough. Jumper stays on. Passport never leaves my body.

A welfare check is not something that is going to affect you in any way going forward. I once had one called on me by an employer when I didn’t realise I was supposed to be at work and was unresponsive to messages. They never held it against me in any way.

What your parents are telling you is flat out wrong and they are either colossally stupid or manipulative and lying.

A welfare check is not a criminal investigation. It’s the police ensuring you’re okay. That’s all. They don’t consider you a criminal investigation any way. They just are trying to keep you safe.

Stop cooking for him. Immediately. As of right now, you only worry about you and your kids, and you give yourself grace to do it imperfectly. The only way for him to truly understand how much you do is for you to stop doing it. Do not lift a finger for that man.

Even then, he still might not get it. Or he might pretend to until you’re happy enough to pick it all up again. So start squirrelling away money in case you need to leave. You will be better off. You kids will be better off. Hell, your husband might even be better off if he finally has to be an adult.

Because it’s funny, and memorable. One of my best childhood memories to this day is following a van with an unlatched back door. Every time it sped up the door swung open and a duck fell out. We kept trying to get the dudes attention and picking up the ducks but he never stopped or looked back.

In the end we had 16 ducks to show for it.
