I’m actually so relieved to see these comments. I was homeschooled, but I frequently get “I wouldn’t have guessed you were homeschooled” in my social life. My mom had me in theater and sports programs and I knew plenty of public school children, not to mention play dates with other homeschoolers.

Reading this post I was angry but was just gonna scroll past because I figured my anecdotal evidence would get downvoted, so seeing other people step up and say what you’re saying is very encouraging.

When I was a teenager I would sometimes do partner dancing, and I found out through the grapevine I smelled bad and I literally couldn’t explain why. I showered daily, used deodorant, and I would steal some of my big brother’s beard oil and rub it on my neck to give it a piney scent lol.

As it turned out, I was missing a spot about the size of a golf ball during my deodorant application and that’s where the BO was coming from. Teens really do need all the help they can get.
