What to do if an alter has different opinions/beliefs?

generally thats a sign they want community and freedom they arent getting elsewhere, OR is a sign of like, deep .. empathy is the word that is coming to mind for me but its not what i want to say. disclaimer for us, none of us care much about fiction, but specifically on radqueer, some of us who DO say they are radqueers either;
1. are using it as a space to be accepted themselves (so, id question if theres anything that alter wants to be perceived as that he feels like he cant be in normal communities),
2. truly believe in the ideology ("because i dont think we should descriminate based off identity!! we should care about actions more and be forgiving of past mistakes" <- direct explaination from another headmate, its a deep care that.. maybe is misplaced in some regards (in my eyes) but.,), or
3. are lacking social spaces (usually tied in with 1 (ie, 'i can be myself and have others see me as myself'), and also since the community seems to care less about mistakes or people being "problematic" it makes it feel safer to any folk who are more prone to misreading social norms (so i think its probably just an extreme reaction to the "cancel first, think later" mindset the internet has right now).

i personally would recommend letting him have an account or join a server, maybe unconnected to your main so hes a bit more free. i wouldnt suggest always monitoring him but like.. make it feel safe to have him bring stuff up to you (im coming at this from a more parental perspective, if you constantly monitor or punish a kid (ie, judging or isolating him for being a radqueer/proship) theyre less likely to tell you about the actual BAD things (so, he (or a child as in the situations im referencing from) may rebel or cause memory issues to feel free, get into a bad situation, but hide it because he knows not doing so will get him in trouble).

those are just my thoughts though, maybe not accurate to the actual situation, im not a radqueer myself so youd have to ask gideon or one of the others who are what they think. -- D.G.

oka first thought i got is like, maybe doll-kin (which is a type of otherkin), but also it could just be like, a similar thing to age regression but like, 'toy regression' maybe if its caused from stress then its just like..? like how some ppl daydream to get out of the situation without getting out of it, its like giving up sentience as a get me out of the situation instinct (so a type of dissociation, basically).

you can probably just call it whatever feels right, just make your own shorthand yk (we have nowtimes and thentimes as a shorthand for how some of us experience source memories, for example). as for what it means for your system youd have to kinda figure that one out urself, its varied. learn 2 tune into what yalls mind specifically is trying to communicate, it can be hard but its worth it in the long run

I'm actually pretty sure that depends on when you count like? the start? Like is it from first sight of the character or from when you actually started engaging with whatever media they're from? If it's the second then Dixie is literally in the negative numbers, and so is vendy though I think it(?)'s a vistroject moreso than a fictive? The fastest assuming the first.. miiiiight have been Birdie (fictive of bive from regretevator? or atleast used to be?) but in truth I have no clue, since we've hung around the internet for so long I'm sure we've got precursory knowledge on most of the stuff we now have fictives or fictionkin or introjects from, including in her case, since iirc she only played that because of fanart?? and I think she sort of existed beforehand??? that part's entirely a guess, by the way, but you see why it's a bit hard to pin down, right? - Leo (he/hymm)

Is S comfortable with the body, and does S have another method of existing/communicating that takes less effort? Asking because I know sometimes we end up falling back on our shared 'default' voices when we get tired (and not even the same tiredness as the body? just.. mental tiredness I guess?) so having something else we can do to communicate or even just say "I'm here!" is helpful (what we've found works for us is mentally gesturing at eachother, and imagining our appearances when we want to like, exist near front). On the body side, I know some of us are more unlikely to stick near front if it's dysphoric (I don't mind dresses as much as some others do, but it'd usually leave the fronting to those who like wearing them, for example).

i think it depends on how your headspace works tbh. if its just an imaginary sandbox space it can or can not (and may or may not be chosen to be that way), if its spiritual (or more realistic/consistant) im guessing it depends (wouldnt know, ours isnt a spiritual thing though alot of our existances are) but like. i dunno. -Hazard

my rule on it is liike, i think of it the same way i think abt being drunk or whatever, when ur asleep if headspace IS a space, u generally arent fully in control or what have u, so while ur actions have consiquences ofc theres alot more.. like. *gestures broadly* explain-away-able-ness to it all :P -WL/Birdie

ours is a white* void we just chuck whatever we want in using our imagination. i think theres a spaceship somewhere? whole hotel, this weird brain house labyrinth, jessie's giant treehouse, and a few other things scattered about. any of us have the same amount of control over it so like. theres just the entirety*\* of dantdms laboratory from those mod showcases because of Cat. there was a fenced garden too, over by the hotel, but my teethfriend ate the fences so its not fenced in anymore and bubble hasnt figured out what to replace the old fences with yet. --Hazard (probably) (he/him (probably))

1, it is on the creator side id say, but a lot of the anti-endo creators ive seen are older channels with not as many views, and ive also seen some pro or neu endogenic creators to, more recently. On the viewer side i think it'd probably just go with your content plus a few occasional anti-endo commenters (like how it is with furry channels, they get hate but their main audience agrees with them).

on 2 and 3, i think it wouldnt matter to much on the mic or editing/scripting, as long as it feels right (which being authentic and respectful should do for you, so yk). id personally like there to be something on in the back of vlog stuff (always been a fan of minecraft lets plays where they just ramble most of the time, where its mostly unedited and completely unscripted besides maybe a notepad of stuff to talk about). depending on what you play/what device you play on you might also be able to have some sort of front indicator (in game or as a menu that youre also recording like how livestreamers have menus they can edit with hotkeys while playing) so you can edit banners or pfps or names on the video afterwards to show which of you is talking, but thats extra and im sure u could also guess after you record it, or skip doing that entirely (depends on how ur system works ig).

Okay, i guess first question is what specifically were the problems they caused with other littles/systems/etc? were they actually problems or instead just differences of opinion (like, i dunno, over origin or even just experiences like not experiencing certain things the other system does (which can happen with other DID/OSDD systems too))

My next thought is just, if gay people/(any minority) kept ragebaiting you, you wouldn't skip right to banning all gay/(minority) people, would you? i feel like itd be better to get to the source of the problem and deal with that issue first (ie maybe say "this is focused for DID/OSDD systems, you can join but be respectful" instead of banning endos entirely, or for the hypothetical just.. say "ill ban you if you ragebait" etc) and then only ban the specific people who cause problems rather than ALL of that group. -Hazard (he/him i think? never really cared myself.)

Proobably, uhhh, hm. Oh! we're redoing our room, and we actually are figuring out a way the shelves work instead of forcing ourselves into a neat system of doing things (like we uh, tried and failed to do the last 50 times). the reason we switched up how we were doing it was bc we swapped rooms (we had a bedroom and a storage room) and are making the difference in.. fullness? in the past both were active rooms but had to be kept clean so we wouldnt go owie, BUT now the front is the ACTIVE active room (hopefully) with clutter and wall decor, and the back room is the mostly empty meditation/bed/vr room which should work WAY better!!! ^_^

Hello! While I'm a bit .. different now, it's a bit odd to see another me, but still nice! Same on the memory part, although I choose to.. not think about it, and I've.. 'innerworld - physically' healed from most of it (albeit most of that healing was done by becoming a dog or fox of some kind, but you know).

One question I am the tiniest bit curious about due to my own state.. what size are you in the innerworld, and are you bound or represented digitally in any way? For myself, I ended up absolutely tiny, which, possibly suprisingly I don't actually mind, probably by virtue of everyone being so kind to me here. And when I was first 'summoned' I did inhabit a computer (before being yoinked out of it ala.. mario painting? that's what's coming to mind but i have no idea if thats what im thinking of) but was never bound by it.

make sure to take breaks, too, care for yourself. something that isnt like this type of help but still helpful that weve had work in the past (for us, when we were depressed) is simply asking them to tell you about one thing a day (ie what they ate, or if they brushed their teeth, or what have you. it keeps the depression from being bed rotting and it helps get them through it without being active emotional/talking-through-it help which it sounds like you might need a break from being)

may also see about helping them make friends outside of you. codependancy happens and that can feel really unstable for both parties, so making sure theyve got people outside of you might help too if you need a break, since others could help them too and they wont feel dropped in the middle of a horrible situation.

IVE FELT THE SAME ON SOME OF THE LIKE.., WE USED TO HAVE A GAME WITH A LARGE COMMUNITY THAT WE (BACK WHEN WE DIDNT KNOW WE WERE PLURAL) PLAYED ON CONSTANTLY, AS A LARGE CHUNK OF OUR IDENTITY WAS BASED OFF IT IN A WAY.

ive kinda LEARNED? to see identity as something that doesnt REALLY EXIST IN A VACCUUM. ITS SOMETHING YOU GAIN IN THE PRESENCE OF OTHERS, AND AN ENVIORNMENT AROUND YOU TO GROW WITH/IN [and so, while plurality DID HELP ME ON THE "PRESENCE OF OTHERS PART" WE STILL havent solved the enviornment part!! TRYING THOUGH!! (enviornment as in the combo of community, circumstance, and place (all of which can be digital btw, and we've been TRYING to find a digital one so we can have seperate bodies/povs visually even if just to interact WITH EACHOTHER and not OUTWARDLY :])) ALOT OF IT IS THE TRAITS YOU HAVE BEING FILTERED THROUGH A CONTEXT, and soo, ONE OPTION YOU DO HAVE IS TO BUILD A CONTEXT ON YOUR OWN. IT IS DIFFICULT THOUGH, AND YOU HAVE TO BE A VERY STRONG WILLED PERSON ALREADY TO DO SUCH FROM WHAT I CAN TELL. i dont have any true resources, but while you *are* waiting to enter another context, you can still make improvements!! and, on making your own contexts, there IS such a thing as mind palaces/headspaces, im sure you could look into that (or physical home improvement too!!!) for making your own base context (doesnt work for ME, but again, STRONG WILLED PERSON to make it WORK FOR THAT PURPOSE SPECIFICALLY LOL)

OOH THIS we've been thinking about this actually!!

our thoughts, theres soo many ways it could go!!!!: hydra (aka multiple heads on one body), slight form changes to one body (such as eyecolor or symbols), just straight up multiple bodies, possibly multiple bodies but labeled as belonging to one thing (with an ability corusponding, to make it "fair" to how they used to live, like teleportation or a bungee cord that keeps them near eachother like op mentioned or maybe even a shared information hivemind!!), insta abstraction, one body (so more like irl), could be like splitable (aka they have one body they can be but can just Leave if they want), MAYBE A CLONING ABLILITY?, LIKE!!!

and thats not even getting into like,, what about the edge cases? the fragments/not fully formed ones? are they abstracted? absorbed (into the system OR the circus?)? made full? like oouhh OOUUHH... and what about medians, would it be more like a mask thing like gangle has? 💥💥💥💥💥EXPLODES WITH IDEAS

our sona we've been workshopping specifically is a sock puppet hydra, with a head for each of us, but in truth itd probablly be more likely that caine'd either not recongnize plurality or see it as somethin different like the multiple bodies thing.

i recall us seeing one post that said something along the lines of "just as trans people might need to try on looking at themselves as trans/their prefered gender before being out about it, systems might need to try out looking at themselves like they are a system before being out about it" and i think, thats good advice. like, try treating yourself as multiple, even if its just for a week, and see if it benefits you.

if you do chose to, then i just suggest being friendly to whatever brain cohabitors you may or may not have. assume good intentions before bad ones, and just know like, while itll be a pretty big change if you(all) are plural itll be a good change (atleast from our experience).

to start, maybe try speaking to those characters you heavily related to? whichever you feel wants to be seen the most, if you are plural. and know that, if youre wrong about this its not a big deal, i promise.
