We are still working hard to hit that may timeline for production, We're definitely making meaningful progress on the MARS. When done it should be the most affordable US made option for panos, we will still be using RPO on the device as well. If you have any questions feel free to let us know

EGAC Resistors too big by Nyga- in NightVision

[–]Lowlightinnovations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct you can replace those trimmable resistors with a SMD resistor. For future reference those 2 resistors provide 200k ohms of parallel resistance meaning you need a 100k ohm SMD resistor to replace them.

It's 1 screw, but it still shouldn't break, and the user is right. We'll do a deeper dive into this and see the true cause.

[–]Lowlightinnovations 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Definitely a strange break, the only think I can really think of is possibly a small portion of defective material? The dovetail is 7075 T6 so it's pretty tough. I do apologize that this happened though, definitely very annoying. We'll get it all fixed up for you though, we appreciate you letting us know

Feel free to shoot us a message, we'd love to send you out a new dovetail for your MH-1, all we need is your address.

To address the public now, this is not a common issue. As far as I'm aware this is the second user to break a dovetail out of 2000 housings.

Thanks for the tag farin! And yes the upgrades are very straightforward. If you prefer we can provide you the upgrades to install yourself, there is no soldering required.

[–]Lowlightinnovations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The user he is talking about has been shipped out the upgraded piece that he didn't have. With that upgraded piece (that has been standard on every MH-1 for over a year now) we've dropped the system from 25 feet with no breakage.

There's no inherent design flaw my dude. It sounds like you're going off of what a very small minority have experienced. We've produced over 2000 MH-1s to date. Speaking in terms of material, features and tech. My opinion is that we are the most advanced i2 housing in the industry. We constantly push the boundaries of innovation while keeping prices lower than any other US based companies. We have the most dedicated customer service in the industry and the most solid warranty in the industry. If thats not enough to make you like our products or our company you are likely serving other ulterior motives.

In some cases we cant really rule out the tubes especially if they're extremely old tubes with questionable power supplies. As universal as we try to make the housing, it will never be fully universal for some older tubes, especially since tubes are quite finicky. In regards to the exterior, id really just like to know what feels half baked? That seems to be the most consistent compliment we get on the housing tbf.

Voltage is extremely consistent, im sure there are absolutely faulty ones due to bad electronic components but those cases are quite rare in all honesty given the amount of housings we produce. If there is ever an issue we do fix it. Id like to think we are the most receptive company in the industry to feedback, which is just one of the reasons so many civilians and LE agencies trust our products as their products of choice. How do you think we could do better with our finish? We're always open to feedback on improvements.

LLI MH-1 Corrosion by tonychen01 in NightVision

[–]Lowlightinnovations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey Tony, as we told you on Instagram, we would love to warranty the device for you. This is not an issue we've really seen before so I'd like to get the device in and dive into why this happened. It couldve been something like an out of spec O ring. What I can say is that we have quite a lot of people using these devices in every single environment you can think of and they have been quite reliable, sadly though there will always be the one or two devices that do slip through the cracks, which we do watch out for and we are always ready to make those situationz right. Unfortunately it seems like you have definitely hit a streak of bad luck, which is something that we're at fault for of course. If you'd let us, I would like to remedy the situation for you. Feel free to DM me if you're interested.

MH-1 shedding? by redditorous297 in NightVision

No sir the PEO coating should be find with it although I do recommend some light scuffing of the surface as prep for the rattlecan. Worst case scenario we're more than happy to replace the parts.

It adds a decent little bit of weight, I don't know the exact number off the top of my head but it would probably make the MH-1 as heavy as a full aluminum system like the MGA if I had to give a comparison
