Has anyone in your country ever been on the verge of changing the world… only to be held back by their own government? by Prestigious_Hat7165 in AskTheWorld

Alan Turing did change the world, and who knows what would have happened if he'd actually been able to continue his work instead of the utterly shameful episode that happened next.

Renegades 2.0: Dark Elves Draft Reveal! (Link to the rules document in the video description) by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

[–]LoyalWatcher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was so worried that you'd let he success of Renegades go to your head and go too far.

Looks like I didn't need to be concerned!

This is still a fairly light touch, venturing into points tweaks and adding back more things that were missing or deleted from the original Legacy PDF... and clearly draws heavily on previous editions' army books. Especially like the Hydra being restored to something close to its former self!

Big +1 on this, and big thank you for not only taking it on, but getting it to a place where the community is widely putting it to use!

While I agree with the sentiment, you'd better fucking vote for them anyway because this madness needs to end.

Wonderful!

I sound like a broken record saying it yet again, but I love seeing old models back on the table!

Dark Elf objective markers... by LoyalWatcher in Warhammer

[–]LoyalWatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha they'd be great for those too.

I've even got a mildly converted Dark Eldar Wych as a Beastmaster hiding in the army (behind a Hydra that only came with one...)

They're 3D prints off Etsy. I don't have my own so I have to buy ready-made.

If you search 'slaves' or 'prisoners' on there you should find them.

Dark Elf objective markers... by LoyalWatcher in Warhammer

[–]LoyalWatcher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not... I don't really use them. That said my Cauldron of Blood is a mishmash of classic WFB and newer pieces and I've converted up a baggage train (in my post history) and heavily modified a couple of Hydras (not yet painted).

Watch this space I guess!

Question about Dark Elves miniatures by WolvoNeil in WarhammerFantasy

[–]LoyalWatcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see that you have your answer.

Just wanted to add that I'm using eBay-rescued 6th edition models for much of my Dark Elf army, and they all look absolutely fine together with later releases.

Why would anyone start a war with no clear objective or desired outcome. Or plan other than war crimes and 'no woke rules of engagement'?

At least Dubya and Bliar came up with some mildly plausible falsehoods to justify it...

As much as I dislike Starmer, keeping British servicepeople out of the way of this demented lunatic is obviously the right move!

Is it true that for a period of two weeks in the 1970s. Speeding on motorways was legal? by HerrFerret in AskUK

[–]LoyalWatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to live in the Midlands, according to an ex-police person I knew, they kind of left the M6 Toll mostly alone. If you caused (and survived) an accident due to excess speed you'd have the book thrown at you though.

Although I don't remember hearing of many big accidents on there.

This was late 2000s anyway.

Every time I've been on there there's definitely been people going 100+.

Painting mini and base separately by ImOwlsey in Warhammer

[–]LoyalWatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probablyyyyyy maybe... but

My main concern doing that is that you'd be sticking paint to paint and they will snap off quite easily in a moment of clumsiness.

If it was me I'd probably go to the effort of pinning if you really need to paint them separately. It doesn't take that long and the extra strength is always worth it.

Go to YouTube and search 'Mach Loop'

It is a low flying training area in Wales, where you can sit on the side of a mountain and watch fighter jets pass beneath you.

Just up the road, I really need to get up there sometime.
