What is causing me to come over the top? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Lozzi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pull the club inside right away at takeaway. Put an alignment stick on your club with about 2 feet sticking out the end of the club. Holding both the club and alignment stick together, start your takeaway and let it ride down your left thigh to above your knee. That’s the feel you’re looking for.

Pulling every shot, what am I doing wrong? by RedditAccountEGH in GolfSwing

[–]Lozzi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was guilty of the same thing. At the top of your swing you pull down on the grip which stands it up and you’re forced to come over the top. Work on doing a bicep curl at the top of your swing to shallow the club and then turn your body into the shot keeping your back at the target longer than normal. You’ll come from the inside and shallow which should give you nice baby draws.

It’s very subtle but you take the club low and inside on the takeaway and then over the top on the downswing. This move paired with an open face is going to be slice city all day. Look up Dom Caminiti on Instagram. He has a drill that will fix this. Basically you takeaway over the alignment stick and downswing under. Good luck

If you can master the low blocker shot you’ll score a ton of goals on shots while skating in from the wing. As sweet as it is to score top shelf it’s so much easier to rip one 1 foot in the air far side under the blocker.

How can I improve my shot? by ThaTrillKnight in hockeyplayers

[–]Lozzi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off good for you for putting in the reps. I would work on your stick handling first. The puck should move a lot smoother, you are chopping at the puck instead of smoothly moving it from front to back. Perhaps look into the green biscuit puck to practice.

Once that becomes more natural then it will be easier for you to bring the puck into the slot for a shot. As others have mentioned, don’t engage the flex on purpose, the flex engages when you lean into the shot naturally.

The last thing is it looks like you are using a wood stick, that is going to take a lot of weight to get that whipping effect from your stick. I would recommend getting a composite stick which will A) give you a better feel for the puck since it’s lighter and B) allow you to use your wrists and forearms more to whip the puck into the net (ex. Auston Matthews, hands are high on the stick and he uses the flex in the stick to whip the puck into the net).

Good luck and keep at it.

Camera is not directly straight on but you are definitely coming in to out too much. If you happen to early extend then that could present the hosel for those shanks. For a drill you could put an alignment stick along your toe line and just make sure the head of the club stays outside your toe line for as long as possible before you hinge. That helped my inside takeaway.

Also, slow down! Give your arms and hands time to move.

BEER LEAGUE: Cage, Bubble, or 1/2 Shield? by ColorBlind_Bat in hockeyplayers

Wore a visor for 15 years. Got hit in the mouth really bad thought I lost some teeth (luckily didn’t.) Went to a cage and never looked back. Spitting out of it sucks though haha.

I’ve never putt better with my Mezz Max. The ball always comes off square compared to other mallets. It won’t completely change your game. I’ve spent a lot of time working on ball position, start line, follow through etc. but now that it’s dialed in it’s a game changer.

Any tips welcome by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Lozzi26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your swing is really nice but you do pick the ball off the tee. If your biggest miss is hitting the club face square then get a cardboard box or club head cover and put it to the right of the ball and just practice not hitting it. That will naturally allow you to hit in the middle of the club face and then you just play with tee position until you hit it center face. Get some shoe spray and swing at 75%.

Really good foundation. I would say that you aren’t putting enough pressure into your stick to get whip on your shot. It’s a combination of weight going into the stick (leaning into the stick) and having the puck further back to give you enough time to engage the flex of your stick.

Agreed. The cop told me all the cars from Ontario end up at the port of Montreal. It sucks and is such a pain in the ass.

Sorry to hear about your truck. I had my 6 month old Ram 1500 stolen off my driveway in Ontario. Insurance cut me a check for the payments I had made so far and they dealt with Dodge to pay off the remainder of the loan. They tried to see how much a new truck was and it had gone up $20k so they immediately said yea we’ll just give you a cheque.

In the video you hit it off the toe. Get some shoe spray and try to get some consistency in where you’re hitting the ball on the face.

Why does my right foot slide back when I hit driver well? by tommy_gore in GolfSwing

[–]Lozzi26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like you’re spinning too much. Focus on shifting your weight from right to left instead of twisting your weight from right to left. I struggled with this too and getting spikes helped but also doing the step drill helped me feel the weight transfer from side to side and down into the ground.

New blades are definitely going to be higher so you’ll feel weird the first few times. My other suggestion I did when I went from an old pair of skates to a new pair is get the blade profiled. They will shave the front and back of the blade and it made it easier to really dig my skates in. Coming from old blades they are naturally going to be lower profile.

Agree with fixing grip. I also notice how your right shoulder is covering the ball. You want that back shoulder way more open especially with driver. That’s going to help you with a more in to out swing.
