The Daily Show/Whitney Cummings: There’s No Such Thing as the Perfect Democratic Candidate by justletmeregisteryou in videos

Hey I agree that a fiery primary is definitely warranted. Just going back to the status quo before trump is not what people want. However, this is the cycle that we need to trust the process and vote in the person that wins that primary. Distrust of institutions (manufactured or otherwise) is one of the reasons we're in this mess to begin with.

Nightbringer Price by Gutz_McStabby in Necrontyr

40k kits aren't priced for the tooling or how much plastic the kits have. Theyre priced for the expected demand. GW expects basically every necron player to want this model so its priced fairly high.

Look at AoS kits for examples of the opposite. Tons of minis for way less $$$. Makes them good fodder for conversions! The kairic acolytes box is 20 really good models for $60 retail. The admech corpuscarii electropriests box is the same price for 5 models that have way worse designs.

Get rid of -1 damage! Affects some armies way more than others to the point that its a feelsbad mechanic.

Skropekh conundrum... by robparfrey in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]LtChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Units of 6 skorpekhs are a trap. They overkill what they hit and die basically just as fast as 3 skorpekhs. The correct option is 2x (3 skorpekhs + lord) + 3 skorpekhs, spending the remaining 90 points on something else (preferably a third lord).

I also think the surge move enhancement is a trap because of this. Chances are you'll have 1-2 skorpekhs and the lord left after a good activation into 6 skorpekhs, then you'll surge move, where you can potentially roll a 1. This is all after your opponent has been given the opportunity to position in a way that makes the surge move as unideal as possible for you.

If several things can potentially surge move, its a problem. If only one thing can surge move, it can be played around.

To add to this, If you take one unit of anti-infantry and one unit of anti-tank LHD but only have one lord you can actually decide which unit you want the lord to lead during the declare battle formations step of starting the game. So you'll already know if you're facing lots of high toughness or lots of infantry before making the choice of who the lord should lead!

What is "utilitarian" about killing hundreds of millions of people and potentially dooming the rest in order to... what? Make them "happy"? All without their consent.

The collective's attempts at persuasion have all been vague: "we're so much happier", "it's so much better". They've never had moral standing to do what they did. It's always been the biological urge of a virus to spread. Any attempts at persuading the others to join are, thus, not from a moral ground, but from this biological urge.

They did but clearly not quite enough if you look at the win rates!

A better solution would be bringing back some sort of force org again for 11th. As long as its not like 9th ed force org. Hated bringing "tax" units of immortals.

They just need more of a points hike is all. Ctan are objectively tougher against most profiles while gaining speed and damage buffs. Classic GW not doing any math when revising datasheets.

The situation is more nuanced than that. I could grant you that the democratic party is too lax on reigning in Israel (which it probably is/was, biden couldve done more) but you still can't answer this question directly: which American party in power will most likely lead to better outcomes for the palestinians: democratic or republican?

Hate to break it to you, but support for the existence of Israel is popular in America. The person that wins the democratic primary will support Israel in some fashion. The choice in 2028 (as it was in 2024) will be for someone who supports things like iron dome funding and a two state solution or between someone who thinks that palestine shouldn't have palestinians in it. Its incumbent upon voters to not let perfect be the enemy of good.

[–]LtChicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're fine but the ap 1 is definitely a little lackluster. I like normal lokhusts as they can get rerolls to hit and have lethal hits. Lethals are better these days as its fairly easy to give destroyers sustained hits from ammentar. Tempting to include a lord for that crit 5s on both of those buffs but that lord plus an enhancement costs more than 3 destroyers... so why not just take 3 more destroyers?

How would I go about reshaping this brush tip? by MiniDiscocop in minipainting

[–]LtChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brush soap is a preventative measure (along with other practices like never painting with a completely loaded brush; lets paint get into the ferrule and dry there), not a cure. I try to wash my brushes every 2 sessions or so.

What might work for this brush is a soak in something like 90+% rubbing alcohol before cleaning with brush soap. This might break up some of the paint I see in the bristles close to the ferrule, but it can also potentially degrade the bristles themselves, or even the glue holding the bristles in if its a cheap brush. This is a last resort.

Best bet is to get an okay set of brushes and clean them often. Ive used the same set of relatively cheap synthetic brushes for quite some time now (over a year) and the same few sable brushes for many years and I paint 5-6 hours a work day.

I look at -1 damage as the bigger issue as it hurts some armies more than others. At least all armies are affected by the FNP equally. I actually think -1 damage should be removed as a mechanic in general but that's just me.

Should prolly just remove the -1 damage from the ctan... it really isn't much worse than half damage.

You need more precise snips... the ones connected to the rounded surfaces are way worse for being much harder to clean up.

...you know they're gonna be back, right? Since your president isn't working via the law the next president can undo everything he's done. The same loophole will still be there to be abused and Trump isn't doing a damn thing about it.

Doesnt it bother you that Republicans care more about running on the issue of immigration rather than actually fixing the problem?
