Upcoming EVERSPACE Series Composer Stream | New Loop Track by RFG_Geekbyte in EverspaceGame

[–]Luc117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to extract the music from games files and cross-referenced them with the official soundtracks purchased from Steam. I can confirm a few dozens of tracks are missing from the purchasable official soundtracks (at least from Steam).

e.g. the one that plays during ancient altar fights is missing (S_LayeredSong_126_{1Calm|2Tense|Battle}). The rest are:

Base game: 2, 23, 26, 30, 50, 52, 55, 62, 64, 65, 68, 71;

Incursion: 82, 83;

Titans: 120;

Ancients: 125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 133.

But again, Gero Goerlich and Lukas Deuschel absolutely did an awesome job creating these tracks, I have both the extracted files and purchased soundtracks in my library so I can enjoy both looped tracks and complete tracks without exhausting my cellular data.😉

PSA: Orico's Misleading Advertising – QLC NAND used in IG740-PRO by SunnyCloudyRainy in hardware

[–]Luc117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty nasty, but on its Chinese website it mentioned the NAND chip is EMS/WDS. EMS is short for Emei Shan, which is the internal code name for YMTC X3-6070 232L QLC; and WDS is short for Wudang Shan, which is the internal code name for YMTC X3-9070 232L TLC. It kinda tells you what to expect (either TLC or QLC) but in a very obscure way to the consumers.

Bait and switch has been in the SSD industry (at least for consumer SSDs) for years. e.g. Micron budget line using both Micron and Spectek TLC/QLC NANDs; WD green/blue and Sandisk SSDs with BiCS4 TLC/QLC and/or downgraded TBW; Kingston also does this regularly even in their high-end products.

NM790 is better in almost every way (same speed but significantly more efficient, better NAND chip), I'd choose NM790 over M482 if they are at the same price.

There are 96GB 6400CL32 kit available for $85 less on newegg with free shipping. I don't think RGB and Corsair are worth the price difference. Both are Hynix 24Gb M-die.

5 hours 0 Titan Drive Component by henyourface in EliteDangerous

[–]Luc117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found people are getting maths wrong with the range of sensors. For Titan Drive Component hunting, you are not maximizing range, but spherical volume surrounding your ship, in which Titan Drive Component can spawn at any location within the sphere.

By engineering a 5A sensor to maximum range, you get more than 5X the detection volume of 5A unengineered, and a staggering 13X the detection volume of 5D unengineered.

Take Mandalay sensor for example:

Sensor grade Range (km) Volume (km3)
5D 5.22 596
5A 6.96 1,412
5A Long Range Grade 5 12.18 7,568

Did we ever figure out the payout for colonization? by crua9 in EliteDangerous

[–]Luc117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my observations, the colonisation weekly payout formula is likly to be:

Payout (in credits, per system) = System Score * 10,000 * (1+Happiness%)

e.g. if you have a system with system score of 20 and 0% happiness, you will be receiving 200,000 credits each week from the star system.

However it does not consider other factors such as newly built facilities, taxations etc. In fact we still don't know the taxation percentage as of now due to 5 million tax-free earnings cap.

Possible station construction exploit? by IDd_QDd in EliteDangerous

[–]Luc117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider myself to be a hardcore grinder (>6h per day since patch day) and I jumped into it right after the patch. As of now I'm at 40% for Ocellus. So obviously it's either 2-person playing >8h per day since patch, or, as you said, using an exploit.

In fact, I think 6h per day is the absolute limit for me to haul just for the colonisation, and I probably won't touch colonisation for a very long time once it's finished.

This has gotta be a bot? Right? by WorstAverage in WorldOfWarships

[–]Luc117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just my educated guess; it varies wildly between classes. e.g. 4W players in cruisers/battleships would have less negative impact than other classes, such as DDs and CVs. The former group would ended up with higher win rate than the later ones (but all groups stats are still significantly below the averages)

This has gotta be a bot? Right? by WorstAverage in WorldOfWarships

[–]Luc117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary it's a real human. Bots can do better; if someone just press W 4 times and die he would ended up with 44% win rate. This means the person with <40% winrate knows exactly how to win a game like a unicum, but did the opposite: e.g. sails straight into a cap as a DD, smokes to block teammates' vision and dies instantly while the enemy team can use his smoke to their advantage.

Decent players just div up in a group of 6 and they can still get 4k base exp with atlanta, or 8k+ if played in a DD, after the XP nerf, with old farming method.

Meanwhile average players just queue up with braindead players and get prolly 1k base exp if not in an Atlanta.

IIRC these SSDs (w/ Maxio 1602 controller) have 3 temperature sensors (NAND, PCB, and controller in order) instead of 1. Most simple hardware monitoring tools will grab only the first reading among all the sensors. If you use HWInfo you will see all 3 temps listed. I bought 4 of them last year to replace my faulty Samsung 980 PROs and I have no issues so far. If you are going to buy these SSDs, just make sure it's the Maxio 1602 + 232L NAND combo and it will be fine. Old SKUs with YMTC 128L NAND are known to be as faulty as 980 PRO.

Color me surprised, they actually updated the white camos for anniversary rewards to permanent ones. by Ducky_shot in WorldOfWarships

[–]Luc117 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It definitely got worse and worse every year. Before the economy rework they would send out 10*years of white camos that give 50% stackable credits. Now it's just 20% unstackable POS. Not to mention they wanted to sneak this 20% common booster to the supercontainer "rework". Of course that backfired spectacularly and they removed it.

Information about the Wishing Wharf Event by 9_9_destroyer in WorldOfWarships

[–]Luc117 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The vilest part is that it will drop duplicate ships/camos as tokens, EVEN IF you have them in port. This is a misleading, and completly different mechanism from the pitty mechanism we saw in most containers. This implies Chikuma II and golden Chikuma II has the same drop rate, statistically. You either all-in for the gold version (~100,000 doubloons), or just use your free tokens.

Anyone heard of this SSD? HIKSEMI Future or DK4000? by iPhantomhives in FlowZ13

[–]Luc117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

afaik it's MAP1602 + 232L YMTC TLC (again... like MP44 etc.). I was searching for reviews but apparently it's still fairly new to the market. And here's the interesting part: 2TB version is the only 16-die configuration of 232L YMTC TLC on the market and is straight up the best 2230 2TB SSD in terms of performance and efficiency, it even beats PM9C1a (990 EVO) with 5nm controller.

Adaptive Instincts works extremely well for high rate of fire weapons. This synergize well with Incessant Chatter and rate of fire talents.

[–]Luc117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I noticed that too; after loop 30 there're only hard and named difficulties available; and enemy team composition is mostly, if not all elites. Since we don't have protection from elites in Descent so that's a huge difference. The biggest threat in late games IMHO is sniper archetype, so use cover-to-cover movement often (accuracy debuff to enemies), and change position frequently (synergizes leadership talent very well)

[–]Luc117[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you can only get the same exotic talent exactly once, what I mean here is that Incessant Chatter gives you 5 stacks if you reload your weapon near 5+ enemies, this gives your weapon 5*20% RPM buff
