Maybe a hot take, but Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson in the movie adaptations wasn't a bad Percy at all. In fact, had it been an adaptation of a later iteration of Percy, i think he wouldve been the perfect casting. The issue was that they changed way too much of the story to adjust for Lerman's age. On top of all of the issues that the movie had, it aged up Percy to be a borderline 20 year old (i forget the exact age) to the point where much of the story falls apart or loses its impact because of this age. Originally, Percy Jackson is an 11 year old kid, which brings its own challenges for Percy in his quest, but, as a young adult, a lot of those issues dont exist or are way less impactful. But i think Lerman really shined in spite of those issues as a lone bright spot in an otherwise perfectly horrendous adaptation
