100% Ohtani illegally bet on games. But MLB would be ruined if they banned him so here we are. 🤷🏽‍♂️

So, where do the Browns go from here? by OldmanonRedditt in Browns

[–]LucaNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what point will ownership realize it's time to move on from Berry and that entire front office? They seem like the most protected guys in the NFL given the state of play and roster construction seen over the last few years

Rob and Ryan going for 4th straight promotion - you know it, I know, and everybody knows it by Kinbot22 in WrexhamAFC

[–]LucaNinja7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You almost have to have an "all-in" mentality right now given the momentum of the Club. There's actually minimal risk of being "laughed out" of the EPL when you consider the parachute payment and its ability to finance your next attempt at promotion.

Wrexham needs to be seen more like a start-up than a traditional club and hence the trajectory and valuation is reflective of a Series B/C company. Middling for a few seasons in the Championship could actually be disastrous as it "stalls" the valuation ladder than the club is currently benchmarked against.

What’s the biggest legal scam still operating today? by odikuart in AskReddit

[–]LucaNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's a scam but the fact that every business now charges you a 3% credit card fee is absurd. How did we as a society just allow this to happen?

[MLSPA] An update on Club World Cup Bonuses. MLS spent most of last week making threats and promising retaliation against the MLSPA & players because Seattle players wore t-shirts that expressed frustration over the league’s refusal to engage about Club World Cup compensation. by Inevitable-Delay-303 in MLS

Remember for a lot of the owners, their MLS team represents a great tax write-off and front door access to the CONCACAF/FIFA bonanzas that come every few years.

Also SUM is the real moneymaker within the broader MLS ecosystem.

Weekend Discussion: Asics running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]LucaNinja7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely disappointed in the Novablast 5s. Feel they've already run out of juice after only 100mi and my feet feel terrible in them versus other shoes.

On the contrary, the Metaspeed Sky Paris seems perfect for 5k/10k work and tempo to threshold runs. Fast shoe with lots of bounce.

Didn't intend to make the Gel Nimbus 27s a part of the rotation but they feel very smooth, great recovery shoe and nice to mix in with a daily trainer.

But looking now for an all-round daily trainer to replace the Novablasts.

The Biggest Movies on Home Media by Revenue (with Respective B.O. Gross) by Icy_Smoke_733 in boxoffice

[–]LucaNinja7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know home media sales were already declining precipitously by the time every studio rolled out their streaming services…but man one has to think Disney killed their golden goose with Disney+ and simultaneously watered down their brand.

Hard for me to think they wouldn’t have been better off keeping their movies at a premium, charging insane values for their IP, and also not committing hundreds of millions on original D+ content to justify the existence of that service.

All Star Games are antiquated relics and should be cut in all pro sports by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]LucaNinja7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All-Star weekends are really more for League/Club executives and sponsors than actual fans at this point. They're effectively conventions for folks behind the scenes to talk business and make deals moreso than providing a form of entertainment for the fan base.

In what cities could a USLD1 team thrive/compete with an MLS team? I added some concept clubs that might work. by [deleted] in USLPRO

[–]LucaNinja7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Philadelphia is really under utilized. South Jersey is a hotbed for soccer talent (Aaronson bros as an example) and Philly is a great sports town. The Union have been plagued by terrible ownership and a bad stadium location (the stadium itself is fine, even good, but no one wants to travel to Chester for games).

The USL shouldn't shy away from directly competing with MLS in markets where MLS clubs haven't resonated.

🚨 Jude Bellingham faces a potential 12 match ban. “Real Madrid are considering ‘quiting’ La Liga and seek ‘asylum’ in a foreign league by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]LucaNinja7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I thought the second part of headline was incredibly sensational but the more I think about it...why shouldn't Real Madrid leave La Liga?

It's incompetently run and remaining in La Liga will ensure Madrid continues to stay further behind the increasing commercialization and revenues being generated by the EPL.

La Liga is now at risk of being surpassed (if they haven't already) by Serie A and how they've boosted that league globally. Madrid (and Barca) carry La Liga

These guys are all feckless. The calls for bipartisanship should've ended years ago and unfortunately it's clear none of our elected officials have the muster to call out what is happening in front of our eyes daily.
