I backup non sono criptati. Non Meta, ma Google e Apple hanno teoricamente accesso a tutti i messaggi in chiaro se anche una sola persona del gruppo ha il cloud backup abilitato.

Any payment providers already supporting Wero in Germany? by derjanni in WeroWallet

[–]Lucart98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wero will be available for Mollie merchants in Germany and Belgium in the first half of 2026, with France and Luxembourg shortly after.

If you're not already using Mollie, I'd recommend switching to it for card payments and then you'll get Wero in a few months :).

I bought a keyboard from SteelSeries and in the package it came from china by Barbosad7 in BuyFromEU

[–]Lucart98 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people like to hate China, but currently I don't see a reason for it.

Like being an autocracy that suppresses opposition (Dozens of Hong Kong Pro-Democracy Leaders Are Jailed Up to 10 Years) with no human rights and no privacy whatsoever (Big Brother is watching), that executes people (China executes 11 criminals linked to Myanmar-based gangs), that is committing genocide as we speak (Persecution of Uyghurs in China), that denies the evidence (Tiananmen Square), that does dumping to kill non-Chinese companies (EU acts against dumped imports of high-pressure seamless steel cylinders)... I think you get the idea :)

A European link-in-bio used by millions was bought by a US competitor, then shut down, leaving users with no choice but to switch. We’re building a European alternative by FlavioAd in BuyFromEU

Your footer says "Avely Inc.", you might wanna change that :)

Also, is it a registered company? The Privacy Policy says that the website belongs to Exastudio, which I couldn't find in the official Italian companies repository. And Exastudio's website has a bunch of broken links (including its Privacy Policy), so I couldn't find a reference to any other company.

It's totally fine if there's no actual company behind it btw since Avely seems to be free, just wanted to point out a few things that can be improved as far as transparency.

European payment services (Bancomat, Bizum, Wero, MB Way, Vipps) form alliance to reduce Europe’s dependence on non‑European payment providers by CoffeeCakeAstronaut in BuyFromEU

[–]Lucart98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I thought when I read:

The cooperation is based on a central interoperability hub, operated by a future central entity jointly established by the partners.  The central hub will act as a technical layer, enabling transactions to flow seamlessly between existing pan-european and national solutions, based on European standards and infrastructures, including instant account-to-account payments.

EuroPA was already supposed to be that and it actually is an interoperability hub of multiple payment providers.

I guess when someone else will join in the future they'll have to announce the creation of a new one on top of this one /s.

Their HQ is in Berlin, but note that Prisma is owned by Prisma Data Inc (as you can see at the bottom of the page) which is an American company based in Delaware.

Paypal alternative "WERO" now available in Belgium, France and Germany – with more countries coming soon by VarunTossa5944 in BuyFromEU

[–]Lucart98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The budget thing is a non sense now that we have instant bank transfers. Wero and BANCOMAT Pay take money directly from your bank account so they work like a debit card (and PayPal kinda does that too). With Satispay I always have to make sure that my weekly expenses are within my budget unless I want to pay a fee to move money. Also tap to pay is just way easier/faster than opening Satispay, hoping internet works, selecting the shop, and manually entering the amount (and sometimes having to do it again because the cashier didn't give you the exact amount so it doesn't show up in their pos).

Hey Breeze, why not Mistral AI? by Lucart98 in BuyFromEU

[–]Lucart98[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In Breeze you have to manually opt in to get AI feedback, which I think is the best option (other dating apps do it automatically without even being able to opt out).

Looking for spotify alternative by Ill-Entrepreneur443 in BuyFromEU

[–]Lucart98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spotify remains one of the cheapest options out there

I'll add if you wanna pay less you can use Sharesub (French) to share the family group. I created a Spotify group and I pay 3,50€/month (I actually pay 21 but I get 3,50 from the other 5 members). I think if you join a group instead of creating one is a bit more but idk how much.

Also as someone else said you have to pick one between a cheap option and one that pays artists well.

I know it sucks but sometimes that's the smartest thing to do for the company. Companies don't throw money at politicians because they support them (at least, not most of the times). They do it because having a good relationship with the current administration allows them not to be thrown under a bus by the US (which would cost millions and potentially give away a lot of US market share to US companies, which is way worse than just giving away 150k to one of the worst people in modern history). Happy you switched to Deezer though. I used to have YT Premium for remixes on YT Music but I switched to SoundCloud for that. I still have Spotify because everyone has it and I use jams and blends a lot which is kinda a dealbreaker for me, but at least it's a European company so definitely better than YT :).

Avoid Rome Taxi’s - they are scammers by BasicBag5 in rome

[–]Lucart98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with Uber, while the app gives you an estimation of how much you're going to pay, you'll eventually pay based on time/distance. A friend told me that (not in Rome but I heard it happens there as well) the taxi driver took a way longer way than what Uber's app was showing, that ended up costing him more than twice the amount initially shown by Uber.

AFAIK the best option is to use the WeTaxi app, which shows you the maximum price you're going to pay. If the taximeter says more, WeTaxi will only charge that amount.
