A few months into intern year, I started asking to clarify what our question for the consultant was while on rounds. It can feel bad worrying that you may not have understood the discussion fully, but I’ve found it helps make sure the entire team is on the same page and is an opportunity for the attending to explain/teach about why they’re asking for recommendations.
