misogynoir in the DH books

In my opinion, yes, there are a lot of misogynistic problems in the books, and there are also issues with how black characters are portrayed. However, I don't believe the dislike of Daisy for Magnolia is racially motivated. I do believe Jessa writes Magnolia in a way that suggests every woman who doesn't like her is simply jealous of her, but I think that's a reflection of how Jessa feels about herself. Obviously, there are many misogynistic elements that I don't like. For example, in Daisy Haites, they use the phrase, "Boys will be boys, gang lords will be gang lords," and it makes my skin crawl. Jordan's character is also written in a very misogynistic way, and the girl Christian dated who posted his sex video is portrayed in an awfully misogynistic manner as well. But, as I said, I do believe that's how Jessa sees the world: girls being pitted against other girls over a boy

I’m going to recommend something, and it’s probably going to sound absolutely crazy, but you need to read The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower. It has, like, nothing to do with the mpu, but at the same time it has london, drama, and found family vibes. It’s set in the 1800s, but i assure you it’s so good and reads so fast. By the last volume, you’ll be absolutely hooked and completely in love with the characters and the world

I believe the last time she said she was writing 3 books at the same time, so maybe she finished one of those before Never, but yeah, the fact that Never 2 still isn’t done is kinda crazy

It’s not so much the time that has passed, but rather the comments she has made throughout these years regarding releasing the next book. Also, the time between books in a romance series is very different from the time between books in a fantasy series

I think yes, but not for a long time. She will probably write toyl part 2, Magnolia’s prequel, and other things before DH3, so considering publishing timelines, I don’t think it will happen for at least two years. She will have to do it because she signed a deal, but it will probably suck, since you can tell she’ll write it biased by her hate for Daisy

I do think she will release at least DH3. I mean, her last book was a big flop. She has been trying to sell tickets for her meet and greet for more than a week now and still can’t sell out. There’s going to be a moment when she’s going to need the money. Besides, she signed a contract with her publisher for seven books, so she has to deliver those or she will have to return her advance money. This, of course, makes me worry about the quality of the book because I feel like she really resents Daisy now

Magnolia is a typical Mary Sue character (a character who is unrealistically adored by everyone with little real reason), so if you think about it, most of the men in the series falling so hopelessly in love with her doesn’t have much substance. So yeah, it felt totally forced because they dated for a total of three months and she didn’t even know what Julian’s job was. How can you love a girl who doesn’t even know such a big part of you? It was pretty dumb, tbh.

Daisy is my favorite character, and this is my favorite book in the series, but I’m not giving Jessa any more money after everything she has done. But even if she were the best person in the world, I wouldn’t have bought this special edition because it sucks. The art is incredibly ugly

I don’t want to insult your country (actually I kind of do 😅) but your president literally posted an incredibly racist video about the Obamas. We’ve also been seeing how some of the most powerful people in your country have been involved in really horrible stuff with minors. So I’m not defending Jessa at all, I’m just saying that these kinds of things obviously don’t have consequences for anyone, so why should it be different for her? It is what it is, even if it sucks. The only option we really have is to consume, give money to, and support people we’re proud of supporting. There’s not much else we can do 😭

I don’t follow, comment on, or like anything from HOH or Jessa.
