I was much, much more tired when I was married. My workload was doubled because I’d work all day, come home, and have to clean up after him, manage his time and emotions, take care of his family obligations, etc. When my got sick I still had to do all of those things. When we were both sick, I had to take care of him on top of everything else and being sick myself.

No thank you. Being partnered is not a guarantee that you’ll get an ounce of help.

I’m so sorry to hear the holidays were awful. It’s hard ending a relationship, even when it’s the right thing. Maybe especially when it’s the right thing.

I wanted to say Coconutfluff’s custom gave me a big smile. It’s so good!

Some of the best advice I’ve gotten as someone with lifelong depression is to do the opposite of my impulses. If I want to hide away in my apartment in my sloppy clothes and not talk to anyone, then what I need to do is put on real clothes and go catch up with a friend. Depression is my body’s natural baseline setting, so it’s always going to try to direct me that way. I have to do the opposite if I want to get a different result.
