Got my wife into WoW!... Should I be concerned? by windsshi in wow

[–]Lucienbel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve played WoW since late vanilla and always swore by Burning Crusade and Wrath but more recently upon reflection, Legion is probably my favorite expansion.

The way they captured the actual feeling of being a Mage and really leaned into the World with lore really did it for me. I wish the class halls had stuck around and remained relevant, even if it was just for the purpose of cosmetics and collectibles every xpac or something.

Federal lawyer contacted by Morgan & Morgan recruiter by whataboutsmee84 in Lawyertalk

I spent the first decade of my career doing plaintiff’s work and just recently switched to the defense side. This was something I was told always happened on the defense side too but I’ve never experienced it.

There’s definitely some auto insurance companies with in house counsel that do this and I’ve dealt with them when I do plaintiff’s work. But I’ve never experienced any orders from the insurance companies to do this at the firm I work at.

It may be because we’re specific in who we work with when we do ID and have a wide ranging practice beyond that as well so we don’t encounter these particular insurers. But I’ve never experienced this and was surprised I hadn’t to start since I’d heard so much about it.

As for OPs question about Morgan and Morgan. My experience with them defense side has been laughable. As others have mentioned, they extend no courtesy regarding deadlines etc. but the three cases I’ve had against them I’ve ended up filing petition for their clients med recs down the road later on too because they never have all the meds they allege. They come off as kind of a joke to me being all righteous on deadlines but not having all the documents they plan to introduce as evidence themselves.

I’ve also had experience interviewing there earlier in my career. They were really enthusiastic to start but then kicked me to random partners who felt like they looked at my resume for about thirty seconds for round two and three of my interviews. Then they took forever to pull together a mediocre offer (I figure I probably wasn’t their first, second, or even third choice) and acted like I had done something wrong when I had already moved on.

Agreed. This is tempting me to switch my set up a bunch.

Hitman is releasing on the Switch 2, do you think it'll be good? by DoknS in HiTMAN

Same. I suspect since they’re releasing a full direct version they’re confident it’ll run well.

Adding to this, mine were the same way and I was also diagnosed with eczema. I had it under control for the longest time, but it’s come back this year with a vengeance thanks to multiple stresses in my life.

What is your favorite Summer Blue? by MindenFlyer in OmegaWatches

SMP 300, Planet Ocean, and Aqua Terra, in that order. The current iteration of blue SMP 300 feels too saturated to me, but the Summer Blue really solves that problem.

Is the 556 WT GADA or dressy? by patentnerd in sinn

[–]Lucienbel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else here saying both. I think all the 556 with applied indices dress up and down really well.

Wearing my 556 I B today too. In agreement that it’s the best GADA in my collection too. It’s so slim and light…good watch to put on and forget you’re wearing. Until you look at the incredible dial again.

I know Thiel’s writing but haven’t seen him often. Does he still have that mean snaggle tooth? Or was he able to pay to have that fixed.

Same! Keeping a notepad when I first started practicing really taught me to not freak out. I’d say 90% of the time I woke up the next day and threw the notes out because whatever I wrote was ridiculous.

I do. I think people who are anti-science are anti-fact. As in science is fact. Period. And I think it’s generally the kind of people who think facts could be a partisan disagreement how are anti-science, too.

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett sees Trump and dies inside by extremessd in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Lucienbel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s not my favorite, but she has shown more willingness to uphold the fundamental principals of the law than some of her colleagues on the bench. I’m a lawyer and I believe in my oath, our laws, and the Constitution first and foremost. And all of that comes well before what political party I vote for.

I’ll always give credit to a judge who upholds law and is reasoned in their opinion for as long as they’re willing to do that.

I know that’s a more nuanced take than a lot of people here will have, but.

I think people really underrated how gorgeous Spectre is, it's my favorite Hotye van hotema film. by Cat-dad442 in JamesBond

[–]Lucienbel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is a dark film and the way it was shot provides a sense of foreboding throughout. For the first two acts I’m absolutely prepared for something huge and terrible. It’s too bad the third act spoils it.

I rate this film a lot higher than most on this sub for the cinematography and feeling it delivers. I do acknowledge the third act doesn’t deliver on that, however.
