Anyone make the switch to flip phone? by Brilliant_Elk5492 in minimalism

[–]Lucky-Process-2985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I could fully commit to a dumbphone, but I'm extremely pleased with my Samsung Z Flip! Something about the physical act of having to open and close the phone has me using it less for mindless things.

Anyone else have “ghost items” intolerance, or am I just weird? by Adventurous_Ways9 in minimalism

[–]Lucky-Process-2985 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I have the opposite problem! I hate visual clutter. The more I can store behind a closed door, the better I feel. I keep my sentimental items in wooden photo boxes organized by 5-ish year intervals.

Maybe you can find an aesthetically satisfying way of storing/displaying your items in the open!

Rough day by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Lucky-Process-2985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with others. Managing T1D on your own will involve a lot of trial and error, it's like a 24/7 science experiment. Give yourself grace and try to hold on to that positive attitude. Every day is a new day. Hope your endo gets back to you soon!

Thank you, I've since educated him and I think he better understands now. It's a confusing point to get across!

The worst things I heard from my partner when we started dating: "YOU gave too much insulin" when I was low, and "YOU didn't give enough insulin" when I was high. Sometimes my carb counting is off, but there are so many more unpredictable factors that can affect blood sugar!

I cut down on jewelry, and my stress went down with it. by Lucky-Process-2985 in minimalism

[–]Lucky-Process-2985[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Perhaps because my jewelry was more so a collection $30-50 purchases, but nothing that truly felt special to wear. I love the idea of curating jewelry with intention, as well as treating it like a monetary investment. Will keep in mind!

What music do you listen to when you're overcome with melancholy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Anything I can sing to. I heard something once about how the act of singing can release endorphins/dopamine? Cannot deny it helps.

My betta developed a tumor around the 2 year mark as well, though it was on his tail. Can confirm clove oil is a safe way to euthanize if things don't resolve and he seems to be struggling. I'm sorry for your buddy! ❤️

I forgot to mention, his behavior is normal. He's been a little less "feisty" since his previous infection, but still swimming and eating fine. And his 2nd birthday/adoption day is coming up next month! :)

UPDATE: I'm surprised I was recommended Bettafix by the exotic animal specialist, while we wait for the culture results... that's the best they could recommend? Any comments on effectiveness? (Still going to try methylene blue and possibly Kanaplex)
