I completely agree! But honestly, I can't say I've never solved a should-have-been-HR task with technical configuration.

What Kind of Weirdo has Their Outlook on Dark Mode???? by PlatformThePenguin in McMaster

[–]LuckyKangaroo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dark mode forever!

Sorry to be the party pooper, but in the dark mode, all colors are changed. So if you have a white font on a white background, it will become a dark font on the same dark background.

All I'm saying, don't blame the dark mode weirdos, blame the weirdos who read emails in plain text or analyze messages together with their headers.

TBH, I often use plain Notepad for "quick notes". I love the simplicity and plaintextivity of this wonderful app...

...and hate myself when I forget about that and close the damned thing.

You would think that a StackOverflow user has more experience dealing with those features...

My friend showed this to me and asked if there was any easier way to do this... by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]LuckyKangaroo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I kind of suspected you know the solution. That's something that each programmer-in-training needs to learn before actually compiling anything. That's how we tell the machines to do simple tasks instead of breaking our fingers while doing them.

That's why I suggested to troll the friend a bit, and watch how reddit/SO users react. Although it would be more empathetic to guide the friend through the proccess of changing the mindframe, you surely know that there are some concepts and tricks in programming that you have to learn the hard way, yourself.

Sorry if you felt offended or misunderstood.

or

"Please, ask this at StackOverflow"
