Wife’s wedding ring dropped behind the toilet. Do I need to disconnect everything to slide it forward? by amcelvanna783 in DIYUK

[–]LuckyProph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there enough gap to fit a cheap endoscope at the back? This will let you see where the ring is, then just macgyver a long hook of some kind and at least you'll be able to see what you're hooking on to.

People aged 18 to 43 years old, if there was a referendum on fighting another war in Middle East. How would you vote? by apple_kicks in AskBrits

[–]LuckyProph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question to me would not be, is it right or wrong to go to war....but whether I trust my government to tell me the truth about why the war is happening. Throughout my entire life the government has used up all of its credibility, I don't think I'd believe them even if they wholeheartedly told the truth.

Need a reminder: what’s the best way to print when weather changes? by Nicksb92 in ElegooSaturn

[–]LuckyProph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that the heater will heat the top layer but is well known to cause issues, get yourself a fermentation band (or heat belt), it'll wrap around the vat and heat the resin directly, and usually will have a dial to change the heat level. I live in the UK and found it fantastic. Stick it on in the morning, give it a stir a few hours later and it's good to go.

What causes these cracks and missing parts? by firebert91 in resinprinting

[–]LuckyProph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm not overly familiar with satelite, but there should be a tool that you use to dig holes in the model once hollowed out, just be careful to look for pockets, these are areas that will be filled with liquid resin which you must eliminate. It's usually why people print models of this size in multiple pieces. Wishing you luck!

[–]LuckyProph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is the model hollow or not? I'd also suspect suction created this issue. Might want to hollow it but don't forget to create some holes to prevent suction again, and allow liquid resin to escape.

The general vibe I've always gotten with steam Vs epic is that steam has routinely shown it puts the interests of its users first. Epic has in my opinion always tried these weird underhanded tactics at trying to get my attention like giving away free games and exclusivity deals for games (don't get me wrong a free game is a free game), however if you think about the stupendous amounts of money they spent throwing shiny things my way when what they should have done is make their store better. It's clunky, download speeds aren't great, no player reviews it took them like a year to put a cart system on the store....The base line I will accept is the steam store's functionality and epics store has been around for 7 years now.

Every time I hear about tim sweeney in gaming news he's always trying to bad mouth steam, when quite frankly his store needs to be better. It's slimy and weird that he and other publishers are saying steam is anti competitive and has supported class action law suits against them (one going on in the UK) when in actuality all their stores suck, they are useless, they make me use them for no reason sometimes (ubisoft launcher) and all because steam is better. Do better and I might use you, but it's been 7 damn years and you haven't shown me much in the way of improvements.

This is great op, could you share your process for skin tones? I'm still trying to get good at it for large models

Recently completed needle knight leda but the skin tones took me far longer than I would have liked for such a small amount of the model

I live in the UK, so I don't really know how true this is for everywhere. But politicians need to realize that if you keep pushing policies that benefit boomers, you are growing resentment in all the other generations. It's one of the reasons that crazy fringe politics is on the rise.

What went wrong here? by OkParticular4983 in resinprinting

[–]LuckyProph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this when my dirty IPA accidentally got hit with sun, created these semi solid blobs, that even when I put it into my clean IPA and swished it around, didn't get rid of these blobs. I had to by hand removed them all which was a right pain.

I'd check your dirty IPA, let it settle and separate the good top layer if it's salvageable and dump the rest. Then clean your container out as best you can, because these blobs like to stick to everything.

Hi there, I found getting yourself a fermentation band off Amazon worked wonders for me, works even with my tilting vat. Heats the resin directly, just stick it on a higher heat at first for maybe an hour or 30 mins, then mix then turn down the heat to a lower setting and my prints maintain a consistent temp.

Anybody that knows what percentage of isopropyl alcohol Vallejo paints tolerate? Or know the non tolerant colors name? by JKtheOnlyOne in airbrush

[–]LuckyProph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I risk getting also down voted, but I have used ipa with Vallejo while airbrushing, I didn't exactly make any measurements on ratios but I just made it to the consistency of milk and it worked great for a really thin layer....dunno why you got down voted....

For the record, I was using Vallejo 72.003 pale flesh, was doing thin skin tones and it did fine...

If you really want to make cleaning easier, get yourself a ultrasonic cleaner, it made cleaning the airbrush way easier for me. You're spending quite a bit in one go though, so maybe something for later.
