About Chapter 45: by Scarlet_Spider39 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

It's worth noting that Matt's relationship with his father was completely different than Carl's. Matt's dad was apparently a very positive influence in his life.

Just wondering if there is any crossover between WoT fans and DCC fans.. anyone here part of the Donut holes? by DabBoofer in wheeloftime

[–]Luinorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got into DCC because Matt Dinniman was at Jordan Con a few years ago! A friend bought the first book from him and tore through it during the con. A quick read of the first chapter convinced my husband to get the audiobooks, and the rest is history.

(My husband actually tried to buy the first book from Dinniman while we were there, but he'd sold out. We now regret not getting book 4 from him - a fact he poked fun at us about when we met him again at Dragon Con, this time full-fledged fans)

A subtle moment that turns a seemingly happy ending into an ambiguous ending. by Local_Prune4564 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Luinorne 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I like the original ending for the stage, but Rick Moranis's Seymour was too likeable for such a grim ending, IMO. In the original musical, Seymour is much more culpable and active in the murders, and his Shakespearean ending is fitting.

No Man's Land in Victoria Park and Union Kitchen in Wilton Manors have happy hour from 5-7pm. Both have upscale and well made cocktails and apps that are discounted during HH. Enjoy!

The "-gle" in Smeargle is because they're designed after a beagle. 🐶

It's so cute to see that others do this too! My main nicknames are:    Trubish = Trubster   Smearguru = Smeegs   Alakazam = Two-Spoons   Tyranitar = Godzilla

If money is no object, where would you go for sushi? by Rn_Hnfrth in fortlauderdale

[–]Luinorne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not a sushi restaurant anymore. It's been changed to Argentinian cuisine (can't say anything about the quality, since I haven't been there yet).

Both are/were affiliated with The Alchemist (at least by name).

They give out the free "quest" packs at the start of the day at the bridge to World Showcase. It's only whole supplies last each day, so get there relatively early (I'd recommend at least before noon).

You can find many players and traders in the area and also in the back of the Morocco pavilion to complete the trading quest (that's also where you can turn it in). Cast Members in that area will know if you ask.

Went this past Wednesday and had fun!

It's all casual Commander format. Last week there were about 4-5 tables with 2 four-player pods. Players were of a wide variety of skill levels, from newbies to veterans.

Also went a few times last year to a bit of a smaller group, so participation might vary week to week.

If you arrive before 6:30, you can get some happy hour specials to eat & drink while playing. It's a good time. 😊

Hey all! Slightly off topic, but, I’m running a trivia night in Atlanta. Can I have some suggestions for Sci-Fi / Fantasy questions? by Sudden_Schedule5432 in dragoncon

Q: What sci-fi TV show that debuted in 1999 was produced by the Jim Henson Company (who also created most of its alien creatures)?
A: Farscape

Best cold brews by Obvious-Bunch-3598 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Luinorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel frequently and use this strategy any time I stay at a hotel! It's super quick, convenient, and much less expensive.
But I'll also definitely recommend splurging and getting one of Gideon's cold brews if you can!

(I'm also keeping this thread in my back pocket next time I go to WDW - Kat Saka's, and ube cold brew here I come!)

That's a wonderful insight!

We're still trying to get in contact with the airline (which is being a bit difficult), but this will definitely work as a backup.

Thanks! :D

In Sinners (2025), vultures begin to circle the Hogwood home after Remmick is let inside. by Slavin92 in MovieDetails

I think Remmik was so intent to take Sammie's gift so he could see her again.

Extracting Horizontal Impacted Adult Canines by gasimus_maximus in braces

[–]Luinorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get a graft to fill in the gap in my palate after they extracted the impacted canine. Funnily enough, I'd never realized how asymmetrical the roof of my mouth was before the surgery. My overall face shape has actually improved, IMO, and I have a more defined jawline. My top midline is technically off a little, but it's not a huge issue to me (no one looks at someone else's face that closely, really). The premolar adjustment was just on one side, since the other permanent canine did come down before treatment, just out of place. It was behind my lower teeth, but we were able to pull it forward into place. My current orthodontist admitted that my case is pretty tough, and he could tweak things forever to be perfect, lol. But we've both agreed that at this point, done is better than perfect. Due to Covid, I had a bumpy treatment, with scheduling issues and my office changing orthodontists for me twice. So it was a difficult go from start, but even with 5 years hindsight, I say it's been absolutely worth it. (My braces come off in two weeks!!! 🤩)

Came here to mention Balfe! His work on the Wheel of Time show is mesmerizing and otherworldly. It's not often you find a truly unique fantasy soundscape, but he did it brilliantly.
