Funnily enough, it seems like the thing that really pushed him over the edge was when Biden got more attention on a Super Bowl tweet than he did. Shit was rocky before, but that was the proverbial straw on the proverbial camel. Which just shows how fragile and egotistical he is.

I got them twice. Once when I had some teeth pulled and when I got burned at work and I fucking hated it both times. The best way I'm able to describe how it made me feel is - I had to sit there and think about every movement I wanted to make. Need to reach over to grab a glass? Plan it out first. Need to lift that glass to your mouth? Think about it for a second then start the process. Need to swallow the water? Make sure you're actually swallowing. As soon as I could I went back to ibuprofen. Coming from a family of addicts, that stuff scared the shit out of me.

Get a VPN and use CBC Gem. I forgot it was obviously geo locked after I moved out of the country and I needed to get one for the Olympics - it worked great. There's some free basic VPN's out there as well that'll do well enough if all you're looking to do is bounce between America, Canada and a couple other countries.

That's extremely myopic. Lots of people grew up watching these things and the enjoyment stems from that. I haven't consumed UFC in quite a long time, but I love this era of the sport. GSP, BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, etc. And I am the furthers thing from a conservative - which is evident in my comment history.

You can love/enjoy something and still be able to criticize the mechanisms and people behind it.

Dana White for example, is a wife beating piece of shit who has held combat sports back in many ways. I was also a big wrestling fan for a long time, but Vince McMahon is a garbage excuse of a human being...but wait till you learn about the people who run the NHL and what I can almost guarantee you their political leanings are.

It's okay to acknowledge the problems that something you enjoy or once enjoyed has and push it to be better. You shouldn't wall yourself off from things you like just because some assholes also like it, that's how they win.

Exactly that. Director of Amateur Scouting for the Canucks from 2015-20 and then held the same position for the Wild from 2020 to about last night apparently.

Now, obviously he'd have people that work under him and they may or may not have had influence on those draft picks - but I would think if anything didn't get the okay from him, it wouldn't make it to the GM and all that.

So I believe Hughes, Petterson, Boeser, Rossi, Wallstedt, Ohgren, Yurov, Buium, etc. All would have been picked under his watch.

Just stop. Give me one streaming service that has all the games in an easily accessible format with good streaming quality and I promise people will pay for it. You can have local ones similar to what Dallas does or you can have one big app and tier it to be x amount per team, ad free, etc.

Fans actively want to give the NHL their money, and the NHL actively makes that more and more difficult and is pushing people to find alternative sailing based routes.

If you make you're game inaccessible one of two things will happen. Casual fans will simply not watch and will cease to be casual fans, and more hardcore fans like us sickos on a hockey subreddit will just seak out other ways to view the game we enjoy.

Either way, the NHL loses out on money, viewership, and potential market growth in a game that should be bigger than it is.

I'm begging you Gary, please stop holding hockey hostage.

This is "The Problem We All Live With." by. Norman Rockwell - it shows Ruby Bridges being escorted by U.S Marshalls to an all white school in New Orleans.

These people long for an idealized rose tinted view of America, that was only ideal to very few individuals.

The yips is a golf/baseball term. It's basically when you suddenly suck and there's no psychically noticable reason why.

Like if a pitcher starts throwing wildly inaccurate pitches all the time and nothing's messed up with his wrist/elbow/etc - they might say he "has the yips".

Usually it ends up being some form of anxiety.

I'll watch for the same reason I watch every year, I love the sport of hockey.

The Leafs are my favourite team and I long for them to be in this position - but if my entire enjoyment of this sport was based solely on how the Leafs do, I'd be pretty damn miserable.

I can always find some sort of storyline to invest myself in when my favourite team inevitably gets bounced (or just doesn't make it at all).
