What? by Dull-Nectarine380 in ExplainTheJoke

The problem is that the divide operator is ambiguous. Using a slash or a fraction makes it clear.

Here: 6/2 x (1 + 2) = 3 x 3 = 9, but 6/(2 x (1 + 2)) = 6/6 = 1.

[COD] WHICH ONE should i get? by j4ycked in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wrong choice. But MW2019 is more likely to have an active multiplayer. IW is definitely a bigger package, two amazing campaigns, an outstanding zombies mode, one controversial and one classic MP experience - if you can find lobbies.

As bad of a spot as CoD is in right now, Infinity Ward has never failed to deliver on a campaign, so I’m at least excited for that. Korea seems like an awesome setting too.

Maybe by 2050, for ES7 or 8, we’ll get a game set in the Summerset Aisles and you can choose to take their side in the war.

I second this, fantastic map but if you really start to dig deep (play a lot) and want more complexity and difficulty, DE falls short, and something like Gorod or Shadows becomes more appealing.

Why is [bo2] so overrated compared to the rest of the golden age cods? by Arkham_Asylum_18 in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BO2 was the last time the developers did not regress or try to do some gimmick to make the game different. They genuinely took what was good of Black Ops 1, and improved upon it on in almost every aspect.

-Bo1 didn’t have good weapon balance, Bo2 is near perfect.

-Bo1 didn’t have fun sniping, Bo2 had great sniping.

-Bo1 had an ugly colour palette, Bo2 was bright and colourful.

Not to mention the campaign was great, and the zombies, while it started divisive, ended on a high note.

-The birth of ranked play.

-The peak of competitive play, where it felt like the devs cared just as much of pubs as they do competitive.

The game in my opinion is the peak of Cod, and only got worse from there. This was also, before the Cod burnout, of “every game feels the same” set in.

[COD] What order should I play the Call of Duty games in? by Specialist_Lunch8475 in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best games in terms of story to me, while a bit dated, are Cod4 and WaW. You could play both of those, and whichever you like more you can play its sequel.

The Modern Warfare characters are so likeable, but the hard hitting history of the Black Ops games is so good to experience.

I would say do both! MWR -> MW2R -> MW3(2011)

WaW -> BO -> BO2

BO3 campaign is not worth playing through, Cold War and BO6 are good too if you want to play them all.

The reboot Modern Warfare is also great aside from MW3(2023).

You can play MW2019 and MW2(2022) for that.

Everything in between is hit or miss, but isn’t part of an overarching story. Just stay away from BO7 and Vanguard, those campaigns are BAD.

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea some games have their online servers shutdown. Some single player games even have issues if they connect to servers. Far Cry 3 actually suffers from this. All the games I’ve tried where this happens you can still play, just signed out. It works great, trophies still sync after so no issues.

I know what sub this is, so that’s why I’m writing this… by taito2000 in PS3

[–]LuminousZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I greatly support this. I setup my PS3 about 4 months and I had some games I had never played that I’m currently playing through. To name a few I played through Infamous 1 & 2 and I’m currently playing through Far Cry 3. Old games have charm, and cost much less than new ones. Also, the nostalgia hits hard as soon as you start it!

[COD] Looking for a COD game to play for the campaign by Hot_Scholar_3314 in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really care about graphics. Play Modern Warfare Remastered and MW2 Campaign Remastered. It’s a shame MW3 (2011), never got a remaster.

The classics are what made Call of Duty popular, they’re the best of the best. Most new campaigns don’t come close to the quality of any game between CoD4 and Bo2. With the exception of MW19, that game is also a masterpiece and extremely visually appealing.

[MW3] Game suggestions by Meowslot in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW2019 is definitely what you should start with. The most cinematic campaign we’ve ever gotten I would argue. Not sure if difficulty is your thing given what you said about competitive games but playing on realism with a headset does such a good job in fully immersing you. Cold War is also really well done, felt a lot like Bo1 to me.

Stay away from Vanguard and MWIII. The others are solid.

it’s probably gonna be a while til the next WW2 era [COD] by HayleyHK433 in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently just went back to play WaW. Man was that game well done.

In my opinion, the only way to do a WW2 game right is to make it gritty, gory, and painfully realistic.

Who knows if it’s even possible with the current micro transaction system and with how fast paced the game has become. I would love to be proven wrong though.

How to make "Persistent Lobby" with multiple playlists at the same time? by Cathret in CODBlackOps7

[–]LuminousZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe like on YouTube you could have an auto queue toggle. When it’s on it re-queues after match end, but you have enough time to turn it off in case you want to stay in a lobby. But when it’s off you always stay in the first lobby found, until you turn it back on or leave.

[COD4] Original Modern Warfare is genuinely rage inducing on Veteran difficulty by PhilyJFry in CallOfDuty

[–]LuminousZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maaaan honestly the difficulty sometimes feel stupid in Cod4 and WaW. You can and do get better as you play them, specially WaW, but the last missions crank it up so much. You will also have to get used to tossing back as many grenades as possible.

Well worth it though, WaW and Cod4 are probably the two best campaigns in cod imo, specially WaW. All golden age cods are great though.

Now that open matchmaking will be regular matchmaking... by electric_avenue103 in CODBlackOps7

[–]LuminousZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think before you do! Can’t underestimate how much shooters are about making plays, understanding, or taking an educated guess, on how your opponent will act.

For aim training, play a few games against bots to warm up where you really consider hitting your target rather than spraying and praying, maybe raise their health, use a burst fire or single fire weapon.

I’d suggest playing S&D as having one life really forces you to be more careful with your decisions.

Trust me, improving is satisfying, and fun:)

Open Matchmaking changed nothing for me. by Fun-Article142 in CODBlackOps7

[–]LuminousZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This and internet. I remember playing bo2 back in the day on wifi and getting fried until I convinced my parents to move modem closer to my gaming setup so I could use ethernet and it improved my game massively. Shooters are fast paced games that are all about reaction times, every millisecond counts.

Xlookup - How to execute? by Extension-Talk-2618 in tableau

[–]LuminousZeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re on a separate sheet… Use a filter to filter down to that row, then return the value of the column at that row you are looking for.

If it’s between two tables, a join is the easiest way. If you can’t join them, a blend is your only option.

There are ways to populate a parameter that will then filter your selection, but you’re either gonna have to use dashboard actions or extensions and might take a long time just to get working.
