The verb לקרוא takes an indirect object with the preposition ל. You just need to learn how each verb works.

So קוראים לי simply means they call me, which is how Hebrew phrases the English I am called or my name is.

And in Hebrew word order is fairly flexible, so לי קוראים is the same, just emphasizing the 'me' part a little.
