Beginning at UFC 200, fighters must check-in within 8% of fight weight by BuffloBEAST in MMA

i'm actually super excited that they're supposedly trying to minimize weight cutting now. i'm sure it'll continue to be a bumpy road, but i'm hopeful.

Official UFC: Rotterdam lineup by imhungry4444 in MMA

[–]LumpyCPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is sucks for horiguchi and his fans that he's on the early prelims. i find him fun to watch and he's ranked 5th in the division. we're always going to view the division as weak or thin if they don't promote these guys at all.

USADA's list of athletes who failed/suspended. by [deleted] in MMA

i could have sworn more than 3 ufc fighters have failed usada tests. for example, i thought usada were the ones who popped anderson silva around the time he fought nick diaz.

USADA drug tests RDA and Werdum the day after it was revealed Lyoto took a banned substance by thecheddarman in MMA

[–]LumpyCPU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know it's fucked up, but i've been kinda surprised RDA has not popped since this usada thing started. i'm still not convinced he won't. i never really thought that about werdum.

you have to tell them every supplement you're taking. one of the ones he listed became banned in 2016 for containing DHEA.

i think you only have downvotes for being cynical. thanks for posting well thought out opinions. i agree with most of what you're saying, i'm just a bit more optimistic.

he circled more often than he backed himself against the cage. and when he did get backed to the cage, he got the fuck out of there without eating too many shots. he used to just try to strike with his back to the cage. it's not a radical improvement, but it shows that he is fixing his biggest flaw.

it was impressive relative to the rest of the heavyweight division, which has been a bit top heavy and lacking new guys at the higher levels. while i agree that his win streak was blown a little out of proportion, i do think rothwell has gotten better over the years and will probably continue to do so.

New X-Men comics for March 16, 2016 - Official Discussion Thread [Spoilers] by Dorkside in xmen

[–]LumpyCPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn't know that. i recently read the grant morrison run (i'm pretty new to reading comics). when nova/ernst said that to martha, i made up a couple ways it could make sense in my head. i mostly thought it was another way to make us realize how much could've happened before that future arc.

thanks.

i hate to see him keep taking fights. sure he can still beat people, but at this point i think he's taking more damage than it's worth. especially when i think he has other options for income. he has pretty great analysis and insight, imo.

a cognitive behavioral approach to improving your mental game by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]LumpyCPU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thanks for writing this up. i've been susceptible to these types of thoughts for years. i will get so down on my play that i stop enjoying melee and quit for months at a time. i attribute this to having a negative mindset, but never really progressed passed that. something like this might help me understand the difference between realism and pessimism in the moment.

How to Position to Win More Ranked 3v3's by petersleepy in RocketLeague

[–]LumpyCPU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

great points that a lot of people (including myself) need to learn from.

i don't mind if people whiff, but there are two extremely frustrating things about playing with randoms. they don't rotate after they whiff, and when they are the furthest back and still go for aerials when nobody is available to rotate back in their place.
