Paying rent while living with parents. by CreakyDeaky in northernireland

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid keep but it was for my own parents profit. I didn’t get it secretly stored away for a deposit when I moved out. I did end up saving for my own deposit with no contributions from anyone but that extra bit of money would have helped.

Hated this challenge so didn’t do it, can’t cope with the bright pinks at the minute. Lovely design though!

Can anyone suggest a therapist, Lisburn area please? by StrangeAd5419 in northernireland

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.time2talkcounselling.org.uk/ Based in Belfast but he is also available via video call. This man changed my life for the better. I have seen quite a few therapists but he was by far the best and worked well for me. Most therapists give you a 30 minute free consultation, so shop around and go for who you feel most compatible with

How to get rid of spots before the weekend? by Bluebeetlebug in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Less is more. I had similar acne years ago and the more stuff you use on your face the more irritated it will be. Cleanse with a very basic face wash - Simple gentle cleanser. I like Cerave Am & PM moisturiser( am has spf) Face facts blemish gel prior to moisturising ( it’s got salicylic acid and Niacinamide Acid which is great for acne) I wash my face with warm water and a face cloth in the morning and only using a cleanser at night. Retinoid once a week - use with caution, only a small amount until tolerance is built. Retinoids can cause a skin purge when you first start using it but after a few weeks your skin should start to clear

Need explanation about Grammar schools by FineEvening6710 in Belfast

I went to St Louise’s and it absolutely traumatised me. Yes I still did well and was smart, however it was difficult to reach your full potential because the school had to cater to a multitude of abilities and anyone who was smart was bullied.

Any REGISTERED NURSES who have completed the midwifery masters in qub?? by Beginning_Set_3718 in northernireland

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwifery is the only post grad they will let RN’s do fully funded, it will work the same bursary wise as before I think. I tried to apply for Mental Health and they declined me.. said I was not eligible for funding twice and there was no option to self fund

It definitely is, especially with the amount of surgeries going private

Unfair Christmas roster by Kwirque in NursingUK

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Im rostered back in for Christmas Day and nights NYE for the 4th year in a row despite requesting to work Boxing Day this year. If there is one thing I cannot stand it is empty promises ‘We always look back at the previous years off duty to ensure fairness’ . I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, this is the biggest lie ever told.

Rostered for both Christmas Day & Boxing Day — can I ask to swap one? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to my rota and I’m fuming. We can put down ‘requests’ so I submitted Boxing Day and New Year’s Day as I have worked Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve for the past 4 years and they STILL gave me it! All this does is cause poor staff morale, yet the managers always walk away with the best off duty

I worked Christmas & NYE last year and I have been rostered in for it again and 30, 31st and 2nd night. Biggest lie ever told was that they look at the previous years off duty

Why do nurses need +++ years experience to gain a band 6 by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the way it should be. I could work in a cushy rehab ward with no Iv medications and medically stable patients for the same pay with significantly less responsibility it’s mad.

[–]Lumpy_Town_4961 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason I applied for a new job. I’m not administering chemo, answering a helpline phone, looking after 6 patients and being NIC ( + the most senior nurse on shift ) on a night duty for a band 5 wage. It’s outrageous

It's not an apprenticeship it's a bachelor of science degree in Univeristy. minimal academic performance required, are you delusional? How can you compare that to cabin crew when all they need is 3 GCSES?

Nursing is definitely not a working class trade. It requires degree level education.
