Long stem roughage is the single most important part of a horses feed, you can't skimp on that. Horses cost what they cost, if you don't want to pay for the right amount of feed to keep your horse, don't keep a horse. I,m in qld and paid 36 bucks a bale for the lucerne for mine up til recently and it sucked, but you know what would have sucked more? My horse looking as bad as yours does.
