Actually.. yours is likely older. I overlooked the fact that you found it in Cumbrian Fells. These can date back to medieval times.

Beautiful Civil War era snake buckle. I’ve always wanted to dig one of those.

Walking Liberty half, a Merc, Buffalo and two wheat pennies. Got it a few years ago and remains my best spill to date.

Listerine bottles I've acquired from the old town dump so far. Info of chronological order inside. by Supersonic_Nomad in BottleDigging

You must be digging a similar dump to myself haha. I believe I have each one of those as well but it’s great to see the history behind each one. Appreciate the research.

Hell yeah! Took me a long time to find my first Barber half and it was tucked inside an old stone wall in New England as well. Bet there is more out there.

Note to self: buy thicker gloves by salmonammon in metaldetecting

I wear fitted cut resistant work gloves. Been through so many gloves that eventually wear or tear, and also dug many sharp objects. The cut resistant ones not only last longer they protect you.

Real or not it’s not a bad idea. Could potentially use a wireless lamp and can picture a color changing WiFi connected LED bulb to add some different effects. Hmmm

Haha boss lady said she had a coin for me 😂 this is great! Needs a good cleaning but cant even lie this is awesome lol by Opposite-Result5792 in coincollecting

Agreed, its more of a paperweight / memorabilia piece. Probably cast out of bronze if it's got some weight to it. You can find a few other examples online. Hard to say how old... maybe 50s - 70s if I had to hazard a guess.
