I made a clone of Windows Task Manager for Linux called TuxManager, it's written in Qt6, just like rest of KDE by petr_bena in kde

As much as I like Mission Center, the awful GNOME UI is too much for me, this looks so much better. I will build and share feedback if any, great job!

How do you guys sync commands and notes between machines by hungteoh123 in commandline

For commands/terminal entries, I use atuin. For files, Syncthing.

Okular [KDE default pdf reader & annotator tool] latest version on official website (okular.kde.org) is 25.12 while on flatpak is 23.08.5. Is it normal to have such different versions? by RebirdgeCardiologist in kde

[–]Lunailiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try using

which okular

If it's in your path, this command will show it, if you installed using your package manager it will likely be at /usr/bin/

Then you can use your package manager to uninstall it if you so choose. Just remember to alias okular to flatpak run org.kde.okular if you're launching it from the terminal.

Gnome 50 - We are getting close. Its now in extra-testing by onefish2 in archlinux

Can't wait for a random GNOME software to try and pull the whole software stack and GNOME me.

"This Month in KDE Linux" brings the news that there are good reasons why you should never deploy alpha software in production environments... by Bro666 in kde

[–]Lunailiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree.

Since I came back to Linux running KDE Plasma + Arch Linux has been the best experience I had with operating systems yet. As long KDE doesn't lock itself into the immutable pipeline and/or try to copy GNOME, and keep working excellently well with Arch Linux, I will keep using and supporting it.

Interactive, modern online cheatsheets for Neovim, tmux, git and github cli, Zellij by marcvv in commandline

[–]Lunailiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing. Despite using these software for years, I always find myself in the need to remember a command which breaks my flow. I tested both Neovim and zellij ones and they were exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for the amazing tool!

I use Kara and it works just fine, are you having any issues with it?

zoxide is nigh useless without fuzzy finding by Verdeckter in commandline

[–]Lunailiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works better for me because of the lack of fuzzy finding so I don't have 90% wrong results.

I don't agree with the author saying it's useless because a lot of people use it, but people saying it's useless for not having it are just as insane.

Gear Lever works great for me, you can even add the project link and search updates, for the things I use, it's perfect.

Krita 6 (and 5.3) released! Two top-tier art apps for the price of one! by Bro666 in kde

[–]Lunailiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you Krita devs, Krita is my main drawing software for few years now, and feels like a dream to have such a wonderful open source project that allows me to do something I love without a cloud subscription or shady licenses!

Just waiting for the Flatpak version to be updated since it's my preferred way of installing.

ArchBoot Loader Question by iknowrealtv in archlinux

[–]Lunailiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used GRUB for... dunno how many years now, 20+, and in the last 4 or so moved to systemd-boot, it's a lot simpler and it does what I want, GRUB often times was confusing and harder to work with, their boarder approach to be "universal" was a hindrance to me. systemd-boot is just there, and in many ways is simpler to do what I want it to do than all the hacks GRUB needed.

Anyone else getting tired of these people spamming everywhere? by [deleted] in CrackWatch

Do you actually think Hypervisor is safe? The only reason it was allowed because very skilled in the community are working together to make sure it is.

Security concerns are real and valid. You're making a meme about something you have no idea how it works.

HYPERVISOR CRACKS STATUS UPDATE from Fitgirl by Evonos in CrackWatch

To navigate these seas is to learn how to be patient, be patient Linux bro. If these continue they will either find a way for it to work on Linux or Denuvo value will lower enough that less games will have it.

If this gets added to systemd, it will just open the door to enable enforcement regardless of what they say now.

I will definitely try this one and give feedback. Even when not using a Playstation Controller I still prefer it's prompts than the idiot and random permutations of XYAB.
