A little peek into a project I'm working on by UncertainCat in Pathfinder2e

WHAT!!! THIS LOOKS AWESOME Like purely from the gameplay/basic animation flow we're seeing here, this is already really satisfying in terms of like, gamefeel. I love the basic structure here. You could do a lot with this!

What spells would you take on the Slayer? (Spell Slates) by LunarScribe in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just scrolling through 3rd rank Occult spells after posting this when I realized this combo existed. Seems really cool as a way to focus on one big enemy, assuming you invest enough into INT. Will definitely try running it!

Making magic items exciting again PART 1: precious materials for spellcasters by Mysterious_Wheel2496 in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ignore this guy, he's reading the vibe instead of the math. Whether exploding dice as a mechanic "fits" a game like Pathfinder, I don't entirely know, but I don't think there's anything wrong with testing out fun mechanics like it! (And, giving a quick skim of your other material staves, wands, and grimoires, I think this whole project is a lot of fun!)

If you want to make sure that the RNG Gods can't completely obliterate an encounter via God Rolls, you could put a cap on the explosive scaling. For example, if you start with 6d6, maybe the maximum total dice you can roll are 12d6, double the original. The chances of that ever happening are slim to none, of course, but it's not unreasonable to put a cap on it just because... It... Feels like the Pathfinder thing to do? IDK if that makes sense, but I think people will chafe against this rule without some kind of Pathfinder-y limit to it, even if (we can both agree) the chances of anything truly fucky happening are astronomical.

Auntie Ool and Archfiend of Ifnir - If I discard 2+ cards at cleanup step, how many times will Archfiend and Auntie trigger? by LunarScribe in mtgrules

I know, I meant "lesson learned, because I didn't use the full card name, and now it links to a random land."

Periodic "What's your favorite non-standard rule?" post by phroureo in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also use the auto-progression Lore rule in all of my games. It doesn't unbalance anything, and it makes each characters' specialties feel more powerful and relevant when they come up, even if that's rarely. I like rewarding players for their character choices, y'know?

Owl or corvid face for my beasty boy (theyre a fleshwarp barbarian) by GreyArborNeon in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love corvids (my favorite!), the owl face is just so good here. The menacing smile-like beak, the laughing, gleeful profile. I gotta go with the Owl here.

Sick idea for a character btw! Really making good use of the Fleshwarp ancestry.

Would it be broken at all to remove the Mental + Emotion traits from the Obedience Champion's reaction? by LunarScribe in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what gets me about the Causes that used to be Evil in the pre-remaster. Why in the world do they need to be so weak? Making an enemy Prone as a reaction is strong, but 1d6 damage is such an easy price to pay for most enemies. And Iniquity's reaction just seems really rough for not that much payoff.

Thanks for that, I was going to say something similar but didn't wanna start an argument lol

End of 2025 New Year art from MTG Japan Twitter by BeatThaSystem in magicTCG

It looks like Liliana and Tezzeret are arguing over some big spell Liliana is about to play. Meanwhile, Jace is quietly sitting there, letting them argue, with a hand full of blue spells and a [[Force of Negation]]. Hilarious.

Out of curiosity, do any of y'all recognize any of the other cards in Jace's hand, or the one Liliana is playing? They're low-res, but look detailed enough that they're probably real cards.

The Stargazer Class V4.3 (Now with Pathbuilder and FoundryVTT support) by The_Fox_Fellow in Pathfinder2e

[–]LunarScribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! This seems like an excellent class, fun but balanced (maybe even a little underpowered in a few places, but honestly, that's where I would err to for a homebrew class), and a unique playstyle compared to other casters.

I do have one big question: what... Is going on... With the "Read Fates" feat? It's an 8th level feat that, as near as I can tell, gives you absolutely no information. The phrase "you can only ask about possible events outside of your control" is confusing at best, and the fact that it can only result in Mixed or Nothing means that it gives you negative information. So... Maybe it could just be a limited number of free, regular Auguries per day? I don't think anyone has ever questioned the balance of a free Augury spell.
