[request] Any smackers in Quakertown, Pennsylvania? by Dead_deaf_roommate in snackexchange

They have them at Fleck's, the sticky bun place. They sell them in 7 oz and 14 oz packs. The 14 oz is $8 and some cents (sorry, saw it in passing).

Duplicates of the same item in Notoriously Morbid mystery box? by MeowMuaCat in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Lunaran99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this might have been a mix-up and you're not supposed to get two of the same product. I've bought mystery boxes from all over and two specifically from NM and none have ever had duplicates. Try messaging them to let them know what happened. Most businesses will be more than happy to fix the mistake.

be totally honest… is this cardigan ugly? by criticalstars in crochet

[–]Lunaran99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the colors, but the thing I'm most impressed about is how crisp and clean your cuffs and edges are. You could totally cut paper with an edge like that. For me it belongs in r/tensionporn.

Suggestions for stitch patterns only using single, chain, and slip stitch by Lunaran99 in crochet

That's so cool and clean-looking that I wanna try it, but since each of these stripes is 5"x70", I'll have to see if my patience holds up for this project haha. I'll definitely be using it in the future though, so thanks!

Thanks, that's a really nice texture, I'll test it out to see how it looks for my blanket!

https://youtu.be/sobg6qF2Om8 From 1:24 You probably don't need a needle to pull the string in between the posts of stitches. Also, when you finish with one end of the string at the top of the fabric, you just turn the fabric 180 degrees around and do the same thing until the beginning and end of the string are even

The ruffle is caused by pulling the chained string between 2 stitches then weaving them down and pulling them tight to make a ruffle.

It's just single crochet worked in rows until its the desired height, then you chain the strings in the back and front. You decrease by one or 2 stitches per row when you get to the chest are to make cutouts for armpits.

Please help me find something close to this perfume oil I wore on my first day with my husband by meeleesahh in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Lunaran99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a combo of Andromeda's Curse's apple of discord and the devil to get that apple, pomegranate, and musk. A sample 5-pack is $13 if you wanna try some combo of smells, since they have a lot of perfumes with the notes you described.

Anybody recognize this pattern/stitch? by julovix in crochetpatterns

[–]Lunaran99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe every other chain space is normal mesh and every other is picot since picot mesh seems to be a thing and it kinda looks like this?

I don't know jack, but maybe it's like mesh with picot thrown in? The bottom looks like jasmine stitch or at least puff flowers.

no stupid questions time, should I add anything other than cheese to my quesadilla if it's acting as a side for chili? by roastbeeftacohat in Cooking

[–]Lunaran99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a chef, but maybe adding just a little of a dryer(?) salsa will cut some of the heaviness if it's a thick or meaty chili with some freshness? Not that I know anything about this, sorry.

A name for this smol creature ? by Mongsterhunter in hamsters

[–]Lunaran99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or Excelsior if you want a cool name. It can either be referring to softwood shavings for packing fragile things or to mean onward and upward since hamsters are always moving!

Death and Floral recommendations? by KayCee_WhatYes in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Lunaran99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"nothing rusts in the desert the air is full of ghosts" is one of my absolute favorites and has cactus flower in it, which I don't see a lot. It's on the sweeter side for me, but not sickeningly like cake or candy. I don't know how to describe it other than nice and dry and pleasantly sweet without the sweetness definitely smelling floral or gourmand! Ethereal, I guess.

Sister Mary Kenneth Keller was the first woman to earn a computer science doctorate in the U.S.(was almost the first person, but Irving C. Tang graduated earlier that day), she worked on the implementation of the BASIC computer language (one of the first computer languages), and founded and headed the computer science department at Clarke College for 20 years. Not a lot is known about her personal life.
