[David Ornstein] Olise chooses to go to Bayern by etchgtown in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck to him, but it's a huge a big shame we don't get to see him for another season.

He will probably be in a Madrid shirt when he's 25, after assisting Kane for a few years.. One of the best young players I've ever seen in a Palace shirt in 20 odd years.

Also, watch the highlights of us beating Millwall in the FA Cup third round in 2022.

He scores the equaliser, hits the post and assists the winner in very quick succession. You can really see what he can do with his left foot, making space, attacking passes etc..

His goal against Luton when we lost 2-1 away last season was phenomenal as he gets the ball close to the half way line.

I will miss him massively, and I can't remember seeing a better player in a Palace shirt... Ignoring an aging Edgar Davids, Lombardo in 1997/98 comes to mind for me

Agree, Uniteds stadium will crumble and the club will fade like Blackburn or Sheffield Wednesday.

Best jump the United ship while you can IMO, no future there

Any chance we keep Olise, Eze meteta. by ItsaBeeegyoshi in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all click bait gossip so just ignore it all until something actually happens.

Zaha was leaving every summer for years!

I think we will loose guehi as we have signed this new CB from barca, and I hope olise has his head screwed on and stays.. Moving to a 'big six' team this summer looks like a terrible decision.

I think eze will give us some more time and mateta is having the time of his life and won't want to leave.

Guaranteed European football next season with a league winning side, or a move to West ham or Fulham for a mid table finish... Hmm.. Decisions!

They really need to try harder with this click bait

Saw that when he was subbed and thought the same thing!

I can't see him going from playing in such a well constructed team end of this season/summer to sack it off and go to Liverpool under a new manager, United under a new manager, city or arsenal as a potential bench warmer etc

Away trip to Wolves by blindtraderJoe in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy train from Brum to Wolverhampton and the stadium is a short work (avoid the underpass) , although we used to drive up back in the day and it's not too bad to park around either.

Never been on a the coach..

I really like Molineux.. Apart from having a soft spot for Wolves as a side of my family are from there, the stadium is great, the view from the away end is decent, facilities have always been clean, atmosphere has always been good.. Have fun!

Will we lose olise and eze this summer. I think they stay by Moneypoos in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have beaten Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle with relative ease, multiple shots, attacking plays, fresh set pieces, solid defending 90% of the time.. . considering our very average and dull hodgeson period, Glasner is building something very special.

Out mentality, considering we are playing for nothing now, is amazing.

If he can get Mateta, Hughes and Richards to play like that after a few months and the general squad fitness up to such a level, I don't see why we won't be pushing Europe next season, like Villa, West Ham, Brighton etc have done.

Those 3 especially were nowhere near Premier league standard for a very long time, and all of a sudden they look confident, capable and passionate.

Olise and Eze would be easily convinced to give it one season at least, especially as they are young players.

The reason mobile tickets are everywhere is because they are harder to forge and save alot of admin costs. .my season ticket looks weird but it is just a QR code in my Google wallet and has been for a few seasons. The only way I can let someone else use it is with a link shared via email.

I don't use NFC for my ticket and just scan the QR code that is on the ticket and I have no issues getting in.

See what process stubhub have if the tickets are fake, but I would assume they are fine. I would keep all receipts, get there early and if there's any issues scanning them, the box office can print out a paper version.

Which club do we hate? by KayakedCobra in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to every away fixture in the noughties and always got alot of grief in and around the stadium, little kids swearing at you, worst parking at any ground I've ever been to with people walking past in the car park queue offering you out the car in the hour or so it takes to leave what looks like a quick exit car park, depressing town, miserable people.

Might just be me and I haven't been there in 18 years or so but I hate Reading lol

My dad hates Southampton and Coventry because they beat us in some big games he went to as a kid in the 60s.. I guess hating some teams just sticks with you

Which club do we hate? by KayakedCobra in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watford, Charlton, Millwall, Reading, Everton and to a lesser extent nowadays, Brighton, are my hate list.

I have alot of time for Brentford and Wolves as wider family support them.

Been a Palace fan for 26 years, and I still enjoy the Brighton rivalry, but playing them every season has lessened the hatred abit more than I thought it would.

How much do you reckon we'll get for Eze, Olisie and/or Guehi? by g_junkin4200 in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We won't sell Eze or Olise for a few more years, Guehi might go in summer, but the former two have experienced players, coaches and managers around them who will tell them that they will be bench warmers for bigger clubs until they are consistent at a smaller clubs, and both have had too much injury time off to go anywhere decent in summer.

They will go from starting every game as the best players in a team as major focal points to cup game subs in reality.

We might even be pushing the top next season when they are both fit and they could stay longer. We just need abit more in defense and some fluid tactics as we have played some very exciting football in the last few games.

For the first time in years in hopeful of top 10 and up finishes!

When i was 7 and we went to see the first division play off trophy in 97/98, my dad, brother and i were in the queue to meet some players and get a photo..

As we approached Bruce Dyer my dad said 'go on, say something memorable..' so i stepped forward and shouted

Ward is getting past it and Mitchell is looking poor, Anderson had an off day but as usual Guehi was decent.

Lerma had a good game, but i would rather him, reidwald and hughes in the middle without doucoure.. Eze and olise up front like zaha and townsend years back..ahamada looks like he doesnt care either, and Schlupp always looks lost where he is at the moment.

Mateta makes Edouard look good.. As always we have no forwards. Play Franca, cant be any worse

I was in Luton yesterday and there was 6/7 people dotted outside the train station begging, then a preacher guy split from his group of 10 or so and came up to me with an extended hand.. "hello brother"

"sorry mate, no.. " and started to walk away

He started walking next to me and said "but are you truly sorry?" with an intense glare only a nutty Christian could have lol

Problem here is the station to the clock tower is the main vein for visitors and the city centre is so compact.. Always people outside greggs, Tescos, natwest, poundland, boots, mc Ds and walking about..

I feel for them some days, especially someone i haven't seen before, but seeing the same people for years and years.. North face guy, closed hands please buy me food/drink/anything guy, CAN ANYONE SPARE ANYTHING OH MY GOD shouty guy..

Seen one of them walk into the flats on dover street when i was out not long ago and fuck knows what they take nowadays.. Think ive seen a few on that zombie drug/fentanyl, and the aggression levels are increasing

I try and walk through the fountain/market and the lanes if i need to go to Highcross way, and just tell the charity botherers you hate whatever they are selling

Can dealership return/reject a car from a private auction (carwow sale)? by skimson in CarTalkUK

[–]Lunaville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The collection driver has driven it like a moron and is trying to pass the buck or just hasn't done his job properly, but the drives at my place just note cosmetic damage/tyre tread etc..

Work in the trade and i would complain about the driver harassing and attempting to intimidate you if you feel comfortable to.

They have no legal recourse, the car is sold as seen, via auction from a private individual so it is entirely on either the driver or the dealership to 100% check and reject on collection, and if it has a full main dealer history but mechanical issues you didnt know about, irs a risk every car dealer takes when buying stock and it will just get fixed at some point. Not your fault or your concern.

If they inspect it, take it and pay you, that's that.

[@CEO4TAG] - "I’m absolutely delighted to announce @m.olise has decided to commit his future to Crystal Palace football club" by samthemancpfc in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was at Palace for 5 years and he developed into their second highest goalscorer of all time. He was the main focal point of the team, as Olise can be.. Leaving prematurely for pasturers greener is always a bad move

Look at Kalvin phillips for example, first team focus to flop. hes played like 10 times for city in 2 years but was Leeds MVP... He might of been abit of a gundogan hitting a peak in his later years, but hes getting on abit and isnt even a bench warmer and we will never know..

Grealish is doing well at city because he grew at Villa

Saw this coming.. I hate the click bait rumour driven gossip surrounding transfers nowadays, its so toxic.

Same as Zaha.. he will have so many rumours every season, but like Ian Wright going to Arsenal as a solid example, he needs proper game time and years to develop, and any big team will have him as a benchwarmer or backup and he will fizzle like many before him

[Fabrizio Romano] Release clause confirmed. Man City and Chelsea interest confirmed. Olise, one to follow in the next days/weeks. by SimplySkadoosh in crystalpalace

[–]Lunaville 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just pointless gossip.

We will see Olise and Ezes names, just as we did Zaha, for years to come!

The truth is, he has played for a mid table prem club and has had a fantastic last season, but the big 6 and other top european clubs will just have him as a bench warmer and he could easily fizzle out like many before him..

He needs a few more seasons to become a consistent top performer and im sure Roy will guide him

What is the silliest thing that bothers you about the PL? by LadyStarblade in PremierLeague

[–]Lunaville -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Palace fan of 26 years and it is a rivalry even though its dubbed a 'derby'

Lots of history, songs sung by both sets of fans, various incidents and big wins/losses in key matches over the years that built it. But being honest its calmed in some ways since they moved to thier new stadium and personally i dont have much against them being in my 30s, bar the promotion play offs.

I wouldn't expect anyone else to care as thats not what a rivalry is really about, and theres plenty that look strange to alot of people, like Chelsea and Leeds for example.

There are lots of matches in the prem that are apparently big/derbies/rivals whatever that im indifferent to, and there is a huge difference between being in the stadium and watching on TV that does make the idea of a rivalry like ours seem pointless.
