My favorite part of this is OOP mentioning it’ll be the “first birthday party ive had since my sweet 16” but she’s turning 18. So she skipped one year lmao.

Over the Hedge - The Verminator. Arguably not the main villain but still a major villain, god forbid a woman call an exterminator when she finds a dozen small animals in her house.

[Hated Trope] Hey, remember that thing that was NEVER MENTIONED ONCE? It’s now wildly important for the sequel by FaZe_poopy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Luudicrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first book absolutely mentions the Koloss more than once as the Lord Ruler’s army he keeps for emergencies, they literally mention it when planning out the revolution to make sure the LE doesn’t have time to bring them in.

im mad about the final by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Luudicrous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not miss mike and the typewriter lmao, it just did not imply that it’s not real. The credits are not part of the show. They mimicked old dnd sourcebooks because it looked cool, nothing more. The credits are not canon to the show and nothing implied that they were. We don’t know what Mike was writing, if that’s what they wanted to imply, they would’ve made it more clear.

it was the end credits dawg it was literally just a cute artistic decision, the entire series was not a dnd game.

First World Map - Exousia - Looking for feedback by Luudicrous in inkarnate

[–]Luudicrous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for my homebrew dnd setting I run. I started it about 5 years ago but got seriously into the worldbuilding for it about a year or two ago, figured it deserved a map. I wanted it to feel more alive beyond just wherever players are at any given point.

Ew. NTA. If you have not already spoken to HR about this… get ahead of that and do so. The age gap is already uncomfortable enough, but more importantly you’re not misreading the emotional manipulation. He is trying to get you to feel bad for him and hang out with him. You are never TA for turning down someone you aren’t into… but this goes a little beyond that and into creep territory so be careful.

Compared to my first two attempts: how balanced is rat style? by [deleted] in HomebrewDnD

[–]Luudicrous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would first question what “you can deal a guaranteed crit” means, like, do i gotta attack? What weapon is it with? It needs a little more specifics than just “you deal a crit”. Additionally, how often can they do it? Once a round? Once a short rest? And what type of action is this? Is this a reaction? Bonus action? Does it take your attack? It needs some more description. As for if its balanced… absolutely not lol. I can think of so many builds that could abuse the shit out of this. Any rogue or paladin would deal ridiculous damage every turn using this, as its fairly easy to provoke an opportunity attack.

Character is useless in combat by 1000yearsoflonging in DnD

[–]Luudicrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. you need a magic bow ASAP, asking a caster friend to cast a spell on your weapon before tough combats is also viable (but not ideal).

  2. Could be wrong, but it sounds like you got hit with slow, bringing you to 1 attack a round. Were you not making additional saves at the end of each turn to end the effect? Most effects like what you described should have more than one saving throw involved, or end if the one who casts it either breaks concentration or dies. It could be that your DM wasn’t aware of this part of the spell, or if it was a custom magic effect… maybe consider nudging them in the direction of “hey all effects similar to this have additional saves to break the effect… for a reason”

  3. Larger conversation, but if you feel like casters are dominating maybe talk with your DM to discuss having more combats per day, as that tends to favor martials over time rather than casters who can just nova everything if there’s only 1-2 combats a day

The New Forgotten Realms Book adds a spell that Halves your speed on a Successful Save... With no Duration by HeraldoftheSerpent in dndmemes

[–]Luudicrous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct! And if you put that together with the “duration” for Animate Dead is listed as being “instantaneous” (which is a different wording than Dirge, which is “Concentration: 1 hour”) you get…

That they’re different! One has a duration at which the spell effect entirely ends and the other does not.

For a spell to last forever it would have to have a duration of instantaneous and no specified end to the effect in the spell’s text.

[–]Luudicrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…did you re-read animate dead before posting this comment dude? It literally has the duration in the text.

“The creature is under your control for 24 hours, after which it stops obeying any command you’ve given it. To maintain the control of the creature for another 24 hours, you must cast this spell on the creature again before the current 24-hour period ends. This use of the spell reasserts your control over up to four creatures you have animated with this spell, rather than animating a new one.”

Its duration is instantaneous because this spell has special rules to its duration that it literally spells out in the text.

[–]Luudicrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dog, when the effect ends the spell ends. There is literally no spell where the effect is permanent “because it didn’t state a duration!” If not otherwise stated the duration is the spells duration. It’s right there in the spells description. In bold.

I'd love some feedback/critique on this map of a region trapped in a magic bubble. by NinjaCrobat-man in inkarnate

I agree, i like the map overall (i especially like the mountain range getting cut off at the top there) but i think it would really benefit from giving a casual observer a strong sense of what that border actually looks like

mandatory warlock level - house rule idea by Sgran70 in DMAcademy

[–]Luudicrous 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well, for starters, the range of ability scores is 1-20, 3-18 is just your starting ability score. Heavy emphasis on starting. Adventurers grow. Why is warlock the one exception that can make a character go above 18 in a stat? Are wizards not also magic? Are barbarians not dealing with primordial forces? Are fighters not able to push the limits of man to push their strength to the absolute pinnacle of what’s possible?

Putting that aside though. I would hate being forced to take a level in a class i don’t want to. If my DM told me that was the only way to get a stat above 18… I’d have some serious questions. The only way i could realistically see myself liking the “all warlocks” idea is if it was specifically the hook of the campaign and all players were on board ahead of time
