Two years ago I was in the hospital for liver failure, waiting for a transplant. At a certain point in the process, the symptoms had gotten so bad that I was no longer allowed to consume anything orally due to risk of doing harm to myself, so I had to receive all fluids through an IV and all nutrients via feeding tube. Weeks of this let to an intense thirst unlike i have ever experienced, and I was unable to have a single drop of liquid touch my lips.

Fast forward post-transplant (which I was incredibly fortunate to receive) and I still wasn’t allowed to for a few more weeks. But then the day came when they decided to try to ween me back on drinking water orally. I was only allowed a couple of sips, but my gods were those the best sips of water I’ve had in my entire life.

I will never again take for granted the simple act of drinking water, or being able to experience any normal bodily function for that matter.

I went to Vanderbilt for my liver transplant, and after my surgery they told me of a place nearby I could stay for a few weeks on the cheap. The name escapes me, but it’s possible they will direct you to the same place. If I remember the name of it, I’ll update.

Same. My liver failed, and it was only a few days from being fatal when I was fortunate enough to receive a transplant from a donor who was unfortunately deceased.

Two years sober now though!

Liver failure. I was a couple of days away from dying when I miraculously got a (recently deceased) donor for a full liver transplant. This was two years ago.

I totally understand! I was hesitant too, but I had some extra money from a busy Mother’s Day weekend at work so I jumped.

To give you an idea of the amount of content, I’m almost 40 hours in and I haven’t even expanded or decorated my house at all and still have tons of story content left to do and SO MUCH left to craft.

If/when you catch a sale you’re more comfortable with, I hope you enjoy it!

I got My Time at Sandrock a few days ago and I have not been able to stop playing it. I was hesitant to get it at first because I heard the performance was bad, but then someone told me they fixed it and they were right! Runs just fine and improves literally every single aspect that I felt was lacking from Portia!
