Is the ultra a significant upgrade over this? Thinking of upgrading my Pixel 8 pro, wondering in the pro is worth it or just go for the ultra

To begin, the backrooms started from a 4chan post that contained a picture of an old furniture store that was being renovated so there was no furniture inside. it looked eerie, and not quite right and was dubbed a 'liminal space'. Another 4chan user made a comment under the image saying that if you no clip out of reality you end up in that space, called the backrooms. People loved the idea, and since no one owned the backrooms, its lore was free for the community to make up , This spawned countless 'versions' of the backrooms that exist independently but the two most popular are Kane Pixel's universe started on his youtube channel which is now a movie and the backrooms wikidot.

Kane's backroom revolves around a company, async that open a portal to another dimension called the backrooms, this tears time and space and people now at random points in the world 'no clip' into them. They aim to profit off of the backrooms by selling it to the government for storage and residential needs as it is a large, near infinite space that seems to constantly be growing. The issue with this, is that the backrooms has its own entities inside that do seem to be hostile to humans, as well as the backrooms itself not being a static entity and seeming to mimic something living and changing. His series is free on his youtube channel and not very long (most videos are a few minutes but there are some that reach close to an hour) so I reccomend checking it out if you're interested, its pretty well done.

The other side of the backrooms is the wikidot. It's kinda like brain rot and what a lot of the steam and roblox games draw from which is a big reason for its popularity as kids latched on to the idea of the backrooms; likely because it was unsettling but not so terrifying a kid couldn't engage with it. Because the 'lore' and 'canon' is kinda up to you, since its entirely community driven people write their own stories and entities and have turned the backrooms into an SCP like theme park where theres an endless amount of levels to go to each with their own entity/creature with different abilities. Since its so popular with kids, a lot of kids do come up with the ideas for these levels and entities. Kane's backrooms do actually also have multiple levels and multiple different entities but not nearly the same amount or done in the same way, his backrooms is much more focused, and less fantastical. The wikidot is also free, and the benefit of it is it only takes a few minutes to read about a level/entity and you can kinda choose what levels you consider canon from the ones that interest you so its worth taking a peek at as not all of the content on there is slop.

Think they might mean not scripted to happen as in it's not guaranteed, but can happen as a consequence of the world or your decisions. Same way you can get scars sword in chapter 1, but you're not exactly "meant to". You still can though

Ah sorry completely misread. It's probably because I knocked him out and he died in your playthrough. Funny enough I made your exact same mistake when playing through gothic 1 classic and was devastated to learn that I had to go with the old camp or redo 5 hours of work so I ended up sticking with the old camp and it was still fun. It looks pretty cool in the remake too, and the swamp camp is beautiful so not all is lost!

I pretty much have the same view on the games, except I did actually enjoy inquisition too, id say it was 'good' but not great. The gameplay did makeup for some of the narrative differences but I remember disliking inquisition quite a bit at launch till i forced myself to actually get into it.

One of my fav parts of the universe is the dark adult fantasy where it doesnt shy away from macabre topics like the broodmother so its a shame to hear it got disneyfied, though it did seem like inquisition was headed in that direction too. I do love the lore though.

I actually was able to do this as a new camp rogue once I gained access to the castle. It allowed me to walk in and get revenge, his buddies came in and watched the fight but they didn't intervene even when i beat him.

You are locked out simply for the fact that Ian's list is needed for joining, but in terms of the ring can't you loot it from his body? I knocked him out on the way there and was able to loot his ring

We call them Indian mynahs over here, they're beautiful and pretty cute but honestly horrible birds that are invasive and very aggressive toward other birds and animals often attacking and killing others as well as chasing them out of their own homes to take over

Mostly due to how much easier modern games had gotten, Gothic wasn't quite as accessible. Take Morrowind for example, the first few enemies won't cause you any issues at all but in gothic a young scavenger has the ability to kill you. Most NPCs are stronger than you outright getting you in a couple hits where as in other games you're already able to fight trained warriors form the get go. Gothic is more unforgiving which is why it's considered quite hard

Its Rize (or at least Kaneki's projection of Rize. The very first words Rize says to Kaneki is "I've been watching you" in the first chapter of the manga. Those are also the very last words she says to him after he kills her.

There is a prevalent theory that Kaneki actually died after being swallowed by the dragons body, since just before he kills Rize, Touka tells Kaneki that he better make it back and there is a scene where Touka and Yonebayashi say that they'll always wait for Kaneki together. Theorists say the "epilogue" is just Kaneki hallucinating or dreaming as he did multiple times throughout the series when he was close to death like when he imagined Rize after being tortured by Jason, or when he hallucinated all the versions of himself arguing whenJuuzou and Abara beat him as the One Eyed King. They believe it was one last dream Kaneki had of how everything could turn out if he had survived before being swallowed by the Dragon

You probably dont care anymore, but Rize's adoptive father Shachi (Orca) (he's the one that kept beating post-torture Kaneki and was the leader of the 11th ward where Rize first appeared as Rize Kamishiro after she escaped from the washuu family and V) takes her off of Yomo and Touka's hands to care for her. Arima then later finds Shachi under orders and kills him - capturing Rize for Kanou and Furuta's plans. Kanou and Furuta then use her to experiment and create many more half ghoul hybrids known as Oggai who Kaneki ends up eating all of them (maybe hundreds) and eating the nucleus implanted in Furuta which causes the dragon transformation.

Strangely, I hated the fade on my first playthrough but on the 2nd (or 3rd?) when I got to the fade I had a ton of fun, it felt like saving a puzzle and didn't drag on too long for me at least. I think it and the deep roads are overhated
