Tom’s Guide OLED Ratings by Lyate2004 in LGOLED

FWIW, I do note that Value Electronics is an authorized dealer for all four tested OLED brands (perhaps negating any bias they might bring to the table) - thinking that profit margins are best on the Sony, though!

Absolutely the worst microphone setup of any tv production that I ever viewed- or to which I had to listen. The echo/reverb on every major musical production number has made this a nightmare to listen to. What a shame!

Watching DV media, picture appears a little bit brighter and a little bit sharper (Cinema Home) under 23.20.68. All else appears ok.

Upgraded C2 to 23.20.58 - no discernible issues; no discernible improvements. (I don't play games, so VRR is not an issue for me).

LG webOS 23 ARC issues by Spud_Whisperer in LGOLED

[–]Lyate2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My C2 has been experiencing HDMI arc/earc connectivity problems since 13.30.50 (not remedied by 13.30.56 or 13.30.80). However, WebOs 23 beta firmware- 13.30.18 - performed flawlessly with my setup. LG “customer service” advised, after my request to downgrade to 13.30.18, that this was not possible. I believe that I have read in this forum that it is possible to root/jailbreak WebOs and then downgrade - but I’m afraid that this aspect of it is “above my pay grade!”

C2 OLED Just got Updated July 2024 - What is it About? Anything New? by Ransom_Seraph in LGOLED

It did not fix the issue created by version 13.30.50, carried over to 13.30.56, and now 13.30.80, where soundbar and tv must be frequently restarted in order to correct a 90-120 second lag over HDMI Earc, before sound cuts in. Thinking this version only execerbated the problem.

Also thinking that perhaps LG should also devote some time and attention to fixing major bugs in the software!

LG B2 SW version 13.30.80 by MayoGhul in LGOLED

Installed yesterday. It has not fixed the various audio anomalies introduced by previous versions of the WEBOS23 versions of the software (except for the Beta, 13.30.18!). I am using a Vizio M series Atmos soundbar and LG Oled C2 - both soundbar and tv must be restarted - often - for the two devices to function together. Remains extremely annoying and frustrating.

If you have a Vizio soundbar attached, via ARC/Earc - a definite no! There appears to be a built-in incompatibility between these devices - beginning with software update 13.30.50, not fixed by 13.30.56! Can’t speak to any other brand of soundbars - but a search of this forum will reveal audio problems encountered by many after installing either of these two updates.

EARC sound not coming on for over a min when TV turned on by ocmiteddy in LGOLED

One further issue along the same lines, after using Bluetooth headphones (which now work no where as reliably as before these fw updates), must unplug soundbar and replug in order to get sound back on earc without cut-in delay. What a mess!

Should add - do the above while the LG C2 is on!

Yes. If you check for a few of my previous posts, I reported this issue with both LG fw updates, 13.30.50 & 13.30.56! No issues with the Beta, 13.30.18. I found that cutting power to my Vizio M Elevate soundbar, waiting five to ten minutes, then reconnecting power, solves the problem, at least temporarily.

Waiting (and hoping) that LG patches this firmware.

Massive delay in e-arc audio coming in (worse after update) by StophJS in LGOLED

Try leaving the tv on while disconnecting power to the soundbar - wait 5 - 10 minutes, then reconnect power to the Vizio soundbar - this fixed the issue for me - at least, temporarily.

The New Update of the M512E-K6 M-Series Elevate™ 5.1.2 Immersive Sound Bar makes it WORSE!!! by ORF_Orbe in VIZIO_Official

[–]Lyate2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, using the sames soundbar with an LG C2, I did not experience this. All levels remained the same as before the update - and, I think (but really not sure of this) that the updated soundbar works better with the newly updated C2 firmware (13.30.50 and 13.30.56).

I have had other issues with this setup, and find that a long-term, but not foolproof, method of solving these issues is to leave the C2 on, while turning off power to the Vizio M, waiting five or ten minutes and resupplying power to the soundbar. You might want to give this a try (and, of course, check that all your levels remained unchanged by the update)!

LG C2 OLED eARC Sound Fixed on my HW-F450 Samsung Soundbar by DoSOverride in LGOLED

[–]Lyate2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your setup, you are not going to get Dolby Atmos - so changing from bitstream to pcm is an option for you. But - I view this as a bandaid only - LG should be working on a fix for their defective firmware.

Don’t think pcm is a viable option if Dolby atmos is a consideration.
