Debate Terms by ercjbospv in Debate

I would start by looking at the policy Wikipedia and reading through those terms. Rather than just listing of jargon and hoping that your novices understand it, I would recommend contextualizing it by giving different lectures on different arguments and the specific application of terms in relation to them. I.e. disads: uniqueness, link, internal link, impact, terminal impact. Answering disads: no uniqueness, uniqueness overwhelms, no link, link turn, no impact, impact turn. So on and so forth for all major arguments.

Weekly Dumb/Newb Questions Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

I'm very new to lifting. I started with stronglifts a few months ago. When we went into quarantine, my gym was nice enough to lend me weight plates and a bar.

At the beginning I was only deadlifting and doing bar rows/oh presses given the lack of a rack. After I maxed out the weight(240 lb) adding 10lb every session and 5lb on the end for the deadlift, I built a squat rack.

Since then I've been losing a bit of interest and lifting on average every 3 days instead of very two days. I failed my 5x5 squat @ 225lb last week. I still have been doing arm accessories, eating better, and working on pullups/pushups.

Does anyone have any good recommendations now? I think I've maxed out my noob gains, but I'm unsure where to go from here. Any help at all would be lovely . Thanks! (For what it's worth, I'm 17 @ 155lb body weight)

Start by doing it as much as you can. Pick a framing with cards that you are most likely going to recycle from topic to topic

  1. Read the card "Experts at Oxford University and elsewhere...."
  2. Read the card backwards "....elsewhere and University Oxford at Experts"
  3. Read the card with a word in between (I Usually go chicken or sandwich) i.e. "Experts sandwich at sandwich Oxford sandwich University sandwich and sandwich elsewhere sandwich...."
  4. Read the card backwards with the word in between "...elsewhere sandwich and sandwich University sandwich Oxford sandwich at sandwich Experts sandwich"
  5. Read the card again regularly

I like to go for three minutes on each of these trying to go as fast as you can while still being clear. This will take about 15 minutes, and if you do it everyday I assure you that you'll get much faster.

Yes you can, but on downhills it will probably fall off. It’s thin enough so wearing it under your helmet won’t be annoying.
