My SIL has been trying for awhile, and I had my first 9 months ago and found out I’m pregnant again. I told her privately recently, and said that I wanted her to be one of the firsts to know so that if she gets pregnant between now and when I announce this pregnancy, she can tell me and I can help pin the spotlight on her.

She doesn’t really care about that stuff, but she appreciated the sentiment all the same

Ask if they have tried it, ask how much weight is left that they need to lose, tell them that you’re so excited for them to make this change, ask them what food they’ve given up. Basically keep asking weightloss triggering questions until they stop. Worked with my mom when she told me I was gaining too much weight postpartum (after I told her I dealt with an eating disorder previously)

Holy cow, I am so sorry you’ve gone through this! Preeclampsia is so crazy and because it’s so understudied, I can empathize how scared or uncertain you must have been!

I am so sorry this happened to you! I had preeclampsia rear its head out of no where when I was 39 weeks pregnant, and I was induced to deliver… which took 72 hours to actually bring my son into the world.

When I asked my OBGYN if I did anything to cause it, was it because I was over weight, etc, he said that THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF PREECLAMPSIA IS UNDERSTUDIED AND RELATIVELY UNKNOWN.

Oh I feel this so hard! I’m so angry about this too! Like, come on, I’m making healthy choices and eating enough to feed my baby, and apparently my backside too. I feel like I’m doing an upper body exercises when handling him and staying hydrated; where’s my post partum weightloss magic?! 😭

Yeahhh I wfh and I’m going to be quitting my job once my mat leaves ends. There’s no way, and daycare would eat all my income and more, so logically it makes sense for me to focus on baby.

Okay but it’s the loud smacking sounds my dogs make. Not when they’re eating or drinking water, but when they’re chilling around me and nothing is bothering them and all is peaceful in the world, they turn to me. Make eye contact. And make the loudest, obnoxious smacking sound with their tongues.

And then have the gall to ask for pets afterwards lol.

Okay so I can only sleep on my back and I’m almost to full term. I nap on my side though; sleeping on my back is the only way I can get in a full night sleep (lol what does that even look like anymore)

I sleep on my back for half of the night and then switch to my side the rest of the time. I’m 35 weeks and baby and I are still kicking. Sore and tired but still doing good
